No unbeaten teams this early is nuts.

Maye should have been a Panther.

Yeah, nobody making it to 5-0 is pretty crazy. Every top team has some obvious flaws. Buffalo's defense is struggling, especially against the run. KC has no offensive weapons. Philly can't pass. The Ravens plain suck. Pretty wild. I wouldn't be comfortable picking a SB favorite from either conference right now. If it continues like this the playoffs are gonna be very interesting. It'll feel like just about everyone in the field has a legit chance.

The timeline where Maye is a Panther is so easily accessible. Tepper doesn’t even care either

Baker balling. Darnold balling. Maye balling. All guys who could easily be our current QB. But nooooooo... we have a super processor PG mentality little person. LOL

For anyone that's frustrated with the state of the Carolina Panthers organization, and needs a pick-me-up and a good laugh...

Oh, my... I didn't realize there was a Cardinals player that did the dropping the ball short of the end zone too.

Drake Maye does seem to be the perfect example of what a future top 5 NFL QB looks like in his early years.

And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special.

but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.

Look I've been as loud of a Sam Darnold critic in the past as anyone and he's assuredly going to crumble in the playoffs inevitably but can you acknowledge at least in the regular season his arm talent makes his receivers better? It matters.

Situation matters most. I’ve always said Sam’s arm is as good as they come but his Achilles heel is that when the play breaks down he’s likely to do something stupid. Which is exactly what happened yesterday. Sam panicked didn’t reset and threw a horrible INT

This was happening a lot in NY and Carolina where the situation was a mess and plays were constantly breaking down. Whether that be guys not lining up correctly, the OL allowing pressure too soon, ugly route concepts, guys not where they need to be, etc. Sam then goes to Minnesota and plays under a real damn good HC in KOC and looks like a legit QB. Fundamentally the system in Minnesota is solid and plays don’t often break down leaving Sam having to think on his own. We still saw that same old Sam in Minnesota when plays did break down but it wasn’t as often due to the situation being solid around him.

It’s the same thing that’s still happening here. Bryce obviously has his physical limitations and that’ll forever limit his ceiling but I believe he can still be a good QB in this league in a proper situation. At this point it looks like Young’s Achilles heel is going to be fumbling which is super frustrating because a lot of these fumbles are preventable. However, it’s clearly not changing so I’m not so sure it ever will.

That 4th down play from Bryce down 17-0 in 2nd was huge. The play breaks down immediately due to pressure and Bryce rolled out and bought enough time to find TMac. The touchdown pass to Legette was a legit. Then on that 4th down play to Jimmy. Bryce wanted that play called and he nailed it.

I was saying the same thing about Baker while he was here

Like man, WE are the problem.

I’m no Baker stan or anything but this is why it’s pretty tough to evaluate anything he’s done or not done this season

No QB is succeeding with this dog sh!t coaching staff

I feel like Baker honestly could be a franchise guy BUT with a competent coaching staff. He isn’t going to carry incompetent coaches like Cam was able to for a few years

So my worry is that while Tepper is hellbent on proving the “basement” crowd wrong about Rhule he pisses away an opportunity to turn Baker into a franchise guy

Then next year we’re looking for a coach and a QB.

If there is one positive to starting 0-1 I have to think that leash got a lot shorter for Rhule yesterday. He lays another stinker in MetLife and at home to the Saints and maybe they’ll be enough time to salvage the Mayfield experiment

Brees never would’ve had the career he had if his first stop after San Diego was this dumpster fire

Give Baker a competent coaching staff and he’d be just fine

Now granted I was also a big Baker believer when he was coming out of college but still our situation is still the same mess it has been since day 1 with Tepper

I was in a typical argument last year with a Bryce advocate and said I could concede every point, but you still would not have an answer for the ball security issues. He coughs it up on the regular. And defenses know this obviously, the likelihood is it keeps happening.
There is nothing we can point to showing it won’t.

And I won’t ever concede that his margins for error are very thin due to his physical makeup. He has to be so much better than the guys with tools just to get similar results. It is expecting too much.

Yeah, Darnold is basically a really high level game manager. Put him on a good team where he isn't required to provide lift and he can shine. But when you need him to do the franchise QB thing and put the team in his back here comes the INTs. He just doesn't seem to have any positions on his dial between "super conservative take whatever's there and take care of the ball" and "YOLO!!! There's a receiver down there somewhere in that sea of defenders!"
