Until the QB play improves, this team’s offense should be built around the running game. Whether that appeals to the powers that be shouldn’t matter since the Super Bowl champs are built around the running game.

Sure, can't fault that thinking

But when you still throw it 30 times in a game, more than 8 should be going to your best player when nobody else can crack the 31 yard mark and said best player caught all 6 of the catchable targets.

This is basically the same argument as the people who weren't upset with us not opening up the playbook in the big win agains the Falcons.  Just because we won, doesn't mean our coaching staff called a good game and thus they aren't absolved of criticism.

Winning in spite of your coaching decisions isn't a good thing.

I like a strong passing game...we have invested in WR's TE's...we have 2 studs at RB.... we have spent huge on the line....we should be able to dictate and impose on the defense....theres something missing tho...not sure what it is...lol

An NFL level QB?

The identity of this team is clearly run heavy but I think tepper wants a fun to watch throwing the ball all over the field team that sells tickets. So canales is trying his best with a toddler at QB.

I do wish Canales had a John Fox streak in him. he would get a wild hair, and it would be we are gonna run it every play until they stop it.

Even with the injuries on OL, if we had a real NFL QB it would be a good offense.

I'm sorry but this is just dumb.  This season is about one thing and one thing only:  evaluating Bryce.  Nothing else matters.

Every time he throws it to T-Mac, it makes me angry.  Why?  Anyone can throw to that guy, he's too good.  What do we learn when Bryce makes another completion to T-Mac?  We learn nothing, it's just a waste.

We need throws to third string rookie TEs.  We need our OL to let at least one rusher through into Bryce's face every play.  That's the only way we can know if Bryce is our future.

Unfortunately it's not that simple. We are learning ball placement still matters regardless of who the receiver is. It's like anything beyond ten yards is constantly a 50/50 ball unless the receiver is just wide open. It is incredibly frustrating.

I do agree we need to spread reps around for the rest of the young guys too. But we drafted this kid 8th overall the first time we've ever drafted a WR that high. You have to try and get him the ball.

Him being as good as he is, and not having a TD is shameful. I’m not going all Tuka worship on him but we nailed that pick.

Gonna add though, if the guys around him can do anything, he will get his TDs. Might be a thing that once he gets the first one the damn breaks. But we need a different QB for that probably.

T-Mac not having a TD yet has nothing to do with the other guys around him and what they're doing, it's 100% because we haven't even tried to get him one through 5 games.

Sure, it's hard to knock them on the times we've scored, with a bunch of TE TDs, the Renfrow TDs, XL, and some rushing ones.

But through 5 games, I think he has a single red zone target in I think the 2nd game where Bryce tried to throw one up to him in the corner from the 5 yard line but somehow threw it behind him and the ball never even reached the goal line.

That's also my frustration, how do you have a red zone weapon like him and not try a single jump ball in the end zone through 5 games.  It would be one thing if he never had the opportunities, but I'd say we've had a good 20 snaps from inside the 10 yard line so far this year, another dozen or more from the 10-20, but we still haven't thrown that end zone jump ball to him one time.

It's baffling to have that kind of weapon and not even try it one time yet.

And yea, I owe my obsession with him, but I mean, I went to a non football school, he was our best player in school history and my favorite Wildcat.  So yea, I'm admittedly and knowingly a little obsessed with him now that we've drafted him, and I want to see him succeed.

But my own hang ups aside, he's on pace for 1,200 yards and we haven't used him correctly yet this season, he's lead us in receiving each week and he's still used as a decoy more than a target.

Make it make sense?!?!?!?!

Man…. I am on an old iPad lately and with my old eyes I have to zoom to read stuff and it obscures the avatars. But when I read one of your posts I know who it is without looking.

Congratulations for being right about him but you beat it to death. One note. Same note. Like C jam blues.

The people around him doing something get more attention and leave him with less. At this point he is a great decoy and needs other players to take some attention off of him.

We're the only team who can draft a stud playmaker who is used more as a decoy than a playmaker.

The Giants had complete poo around Nabers last year but peppered him with targets all season long, they didn't use him as a decoy.

I don’t think that’s true about us being the only team. Lots of teams with top WRs have had successful number twos because of all the attention the one draws.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
