That RTP on Prescott was a total bitch call and bailed them out on what would have been another failed drive.  It was a clean hit.

It's nothing new though.  Any time we play the Cowboys in the regular season they get generous spots, usually more than one questionable penalty that extends a drive for them or kills one for the Panthers, and more often than not a handful of no-calls on PI or holding.  The exceptions are the two playoff games and the 2015 beatdown on Thanksgiving.

The fact that the 2nd flag was thrown right after the pass was incomplete, like it was going to be defensive holding and then it was picked up when RTP was called was super odd. That’s the kind of stuff that makes me wonder at times.

I was waiting for a holding call on the final drive or a false start on the kick or something but it never happened.

I think 2007 was the one where the DB just tackled Carter before the ball got there.  Matt Moore was the starter in that game.  I think that was the same one where Steve Smith made a catch on his back, the closest ref called it complete, and then Mike Carey came running from the opposite end of the field to call it incomplete.

2007 Cowboys@ Panthers was like two days before Christmas. I was there with my girlfriend at the time in section 126. My family had these seats since 1996, and we were all in Clemson before that. I finally sold them 2 seasons ago. There were four people sitting in front of us who scalped their tickets from the stupid Lake Norman dentist who'd always sell them. To put it kindly, these people were white trash. It was a couple, friend #1 who was clearly the smartest of the bunch and chill, and friend #2 who looked like one of the white nationalist guys that Rust Cole worked with in the first season of True Detective when they tried to steal drugs.

I was like 21 or 22, had not started lifting weights seriously yet and was pretty scrawny, but I would run my mouth. I admit it, but we all have to learn to be able to back up the poo we talk.

I remember we started off that game with a quick score and I made a comment like "shock and awe" and one of the guys was like "hell yeah brother semper fi." Neither of us ever served in the military. At halftime the guy splurged for his girlfriend and bought her a pink bedazzled Delhomme jersey. It was hideous. She was wearing it.

Anyway the cowboys slowly but surely started taking the game over and it was low scoring but they kinda dominated. It was pretty clear in the third the Panthers weren't going to win, and the mood was souring and they were getting very fuged up. I was saying the kind of things about the state of the Panthers that people like them don't appreciate. As an older guy, I understand that they were trying to have a good time and neither the team nor the people around them were cooperating, and that these tickets had probably been a big purchase for them. Gotta meet people where they are, etc. And they were definitely white trash but all of us are one or two things in our life going differently from being in the same situation.

At the time I was like "this team sucks why are you upset?"

Then in the late 3rd, early 4th, by pure accident, the girl in the pink Delhomme jersey leaned back as my girlfriend leaned forward and got like a small amount of nacho cheese on her fuging jersey and this was just the last straw.

He started screaming at me to pay for the entire jersey. I offered to dry clean it and mail it to him, things escalated, words were exchanged, threats made. The drunk REAL white trash guy was completely out of line, called my girlfriend a bitch and a slut. Stadium security called and did nothing. The entire section had known me since I was 9 years old and there were a couple of older people that jumped in to defend me, but it was a tense situation. We should have just left but it was technically close until the end; lesson learned. Don't get in a fight with people who have nothing to lose.

So game ends, my friends in the section are escorting me out, and the guy with the girlfriend runs up and puts me in a headlock in the fuging concourse and starts demanding 300 hundred dollars or whatever those jerseys cost back then. Dane, the guy who sat behind and had known me since I was 9 and was from the streets of new orleans immediately jumped in, held up like 50 bucks to clean this shitty jersey and these guys were face to face screaming. Like if either'd had a gun there'd have been a body. It was tense.

Then out of nowhere, friend #2, drunk as hell, decided he was going to sucker punch someone. I watched this happen like it was in slow motion. He crow hopped into a punch, aimed it straight for my (other, unrelated) friend's jaw, missed completely, and CONNECTED with a random cowboys fan who was just passing by looking at the other two argue. Like knocked the poor guy out of his shoes, wallet and keys on the ground, everyone screaming.

The two guys fighting just stopped and stared. Someone said the cops are coming. Friend #2 (who turned out had a couple of priors and outstandings) ran right into two cops who took him right down. The guy who put me in the headlock fuging shook my hand (bizarre), said "merry christmas" and got out of there. The cowboy fan who took the sucker punch stood up like nothing happened, saw the dude getting worked by the cops, and said "eat poo bitch!" and just walked off. Dude was a bro, to be honest. Like he took a serious punch and just shrugged it off. If he hadn't been turned around watching something else I'm not sure it would have even phased him.

Dane, the guy who pulled him off of me was so worked up we had to spend about an hour calming him down before I drove back home. Like he wanted to find the guy he chested up to.

Honestly that more than anything was the reason I got into weightlifting, so some good came out of it. Guys with 500 pound backsquats don't get jumped.

that's probably my worst Panthers-Cowboys experience.
