 At  least he can throw the ball forty yards on a rope

Young can throw it twenty "lame duck" style.....

He would at least spread the field and have teams stop stacking the box and kill the run game. Which has to be our bread and butter to win.

When is the last time we threw a long pass to anyone successfully.....I cant remember.

How is that working out for them?

 

I am far from a Bryce fan but the obsession over these long bombs is literally completely absurd.

Not sure where you stand but there is no way, after all the talk about bryces arm, that you could watch Sundays game and not see we have a problem.  Dude was throwing ducks all day, and thats been the case for his career when conditions are not perfect.  If we see it I hope to god Dan and dave do but I am firmly of the belief an extension is incoming

So you guys are pining over Hendon Hooker and fuging Mike White???

That's insane. Literally.

All of us want better and hope that happens but asking to watch 3 incomplete 40+ yard passes a game while getting blasted by 20+ points is not the sort of panacea I think any reasonable fan wants to witness.

I'd rather limp along with that anchor in Bryce Young than watch the rebirth of the Wienkie/Clausen eras, thanks. At least until something actually, REALLY better comes along.

Finally a voice of reason. You don’t have to like Bryce to know it takes more than size and arm to  be an NFL QB.

The scope of the limitations is so far beyond long bombs. Nobody here is clamoring for us just to run straight up go routes on repeat. There are crucial throws defenses know we can't convert such as down the sideline that almost always result in either the ball going several feet over the receivers head out of bounds or the receiver having to leap into the air and make an acrobatic attempt to haul it in or having to completely slow down or stop. It's off the table and defenses know it and sooner or later we were going to walk into another buzzsaw like against the Patriots.

Nobody here is in love with Hendon Hooker or Mike White. It wasn't us who made the decision to ignore the depth of the QB room two years in a row. You can whail at people for discussing it all you want. If you're that triggered by the discussion then call up Dan Morgan and bitch at him about the fact we are having to discuss the likes of Dalton Hooker or White. It isn't our fault.

Not to mention, this White kid has a career 6.8 Yds IAY. Bryce is 7.7. That is not even an upgrade in targets down the field. It's literally a downgrade.
