So you guys are pining over Hendon Hooker and fuging Mike White???

That's insane. Literally.

All of us want better and hope that happens but asking to watch 3 incomplete 40+ yard passes a game while getting blasted by 20+ points is not the sort of panacea I think any reasonable fan wants to witness.

I'd rather limp along with that anchor in Bryce Young than watch the rebirth of the Wienkie/Clausen eras, thanks. At least until something actually, REALLY better comes along.

Jesus Christ. Some of you guys might need to take a break from the NFL for a while if this is the type of poo in your heads.

We have been abused for 2.5 years.

General tone of the thread. Probably shouldn't have quoted you directly.

Not to mention, this White kid has a career 6.8 Yds IAY. Bryce is 7.7. That is not even an upgrade in targets down the field. It's literally a downgrade.

If Bryce Young didn't have a higher YPA than a practice squad QB after throwing the ball 811 more times he would be the worst QB in NFL history.

I mean, brother it's been more like 7.5 years. Ain't poo changed.

I was there for it.I don’t disagree that Tepper is the real villain.

This last 2.5 with Bruce no playing Young and that trade and the stanning and all of it is the nadir. And then they hang him over our heads like we have to watch this poo for more years on a new contract.
It is why people are anybody but Bryce.

I don't think there are many real Bryce stans just stubborn folks that don't want to go through it all again. But we will. IMO, the writing is on the wall.

Bryce may improve but he isn't gonna be a franchise caliber QB.

The scope of the limitations is so far beyond long bombs. Nobody here is clamoring for us just to run straight up go routes on repeat. There are crucial throws defenses know we can't convert such as down the sideline that almost always result in either the ball going several feet over the receivers head out of bounds or the receiver having to leap into the air and make an acrobatic attempt to haul it in or having to completely slow down or stop. It's off the table and defenses know it and sooner or later we were going to walk into another buzzsaw like against the Patriots.

Nobody here is in love with Hendon Hooker or Mike White. It wasn't us who made the decision to ignore the depth of the QB room two years in a row. You can whail at people for discussing it all you want. If you're that triggered by the discussion then call up Dan Morgan and bitch at him about the fact we are having to discuss the likes of Dalton Hooker or White. It isn't our fault.

Exactly. Thank you.

Yeah. I mean there isn't much we can do about it at this point. Just watch it happen and see what comes next.

It is what it is. They should put that on the stadium for all to see because it perfectly sums up the current qb situation for the team.

Yeah and that is the most frustrating part. the owner is a fuging idiot and we are powerless. fuging emasculated which is his thing with the brass balls and the way he operates.

I will say that any pining over Hendon Hooker will end REAL fast when/if he plays.

Pretty clear that Hooker was just brought in to run scout team for weeks we faced a similar style QB. Otherwise White wouldn’t have been here 24 hours after Bryce got hurt. Dudes not even a development project just a mobile chess piece.

Also Mike White obviously won't learn much of the offense in 5 days, but he was with the Bills all season last year so he knows their defense's tendencies.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
