if using the season and Bryce's play as the reference marker.....odds are they wouldn't of scored much more.  When Rico hasn't gone for 200+, the O with Bryce doesn't do the whole "offense" thing very well.  It basically hasn't existed outside of those 2 games Rico would bonkers (Cardinals sort of let them have some offense to get back into that one).

He also doesn't respond well to constant pressure or secure the ball well. It would have been a different view of the same thing.

Changing the turd at the top of the pile does not make it less of a pile of crap. It can and will get worse. It would also cost Canales his job for doing such a moronic thing this early in the season. When they are out of the playoff hunt then maybe he can play around with the roster. Doing it now means you are throwing in the towel on the season.

I know, but we've been served turds for so long, at least a change of seasoning would seem like something good at this point. Won't change the substance, but at least the experience.

It changes nothing but a worse experience and let's the rest of the team know that you've thrown in the towel and winning is not your priority, it's only to appease the fans.

Bryce hits Coker here 100%

That's a maybe. Bryce misses a lot of reads every game. And really for the same reason Andy did there, he bailed and started running around.

The more damning thing was the holding onto the ball to "extend" plays and just getting sacked. That's not Andy's game at all. Never has been. That was uncharacteristic to the point of being absurd. You are a veteran, what the actual fug are you doing fuging around back there??? Throw it the fug away or make a decision.

People talk Andy being washed in terms of physical ability but I don't think that really played a factor. It was his crippling indecisiveness that literally looked like year 1 Bryce that was infuriating. He looked like Vikings Carson Wentz or Jets era Sam Darnold. It was insane.

I don't think we'd have beaten the Bills with Bryce at QB given how bad the defense played but I have no doubt it'd have been at least a little closer.

Dalton is a good mentor but he's clearly done on the field. Should have signed Jameis Winston for that role.

I don't think the QB was going to win the game for us. A ball control rushing offense would have. Especially one featuring heavy Rico usage.

But Canales had other ideas, obviously. And we see how well that worked out.

I’d say could have rather than would have but not doing it was inexplicable.

Yeah that was what got me. The part of Andy’s game that you you don’t have to worry about was AWOL. Major WTF are you doing stuff, like a rookie.

I mean given what we gave up to acquire Bryce Young we would all like to be able to say this is true but we've seen him miss reads and we've also seen him miss throws in that scenario where a guy is running along the back of the end zone. There have been times this season where he has badly missed throws in such scenarios. To suggest it would be "automatic" unfortunately does not reflect the reality of what Bryce has been as a passer through the entirety of 37 career games.

Yeah, could is accurate. Not a foregone conclusion.

I couldn't believe it. Made zero sense. Looked like Terry Rozier on the Hornets

    • Horn is made to be a press man CB no doubt.  He claimed we don't have the personnel (talent) to play straight up man.
    • Not when said QB is Josh Allen, it would be like when Andy Reid retires in the next few years and KC making the hire without involving Mahomes in the discussion at all. When you have a QB like they, they 100% should be involved in the discussions to make sure there is alignment and the QB/HC will mesh well together.  I'm sure they didn't just let him make the decision as that would be dumb, but it would be even dumber to have not involved him in the process at all.
    • The press conference was ugly and would make any coach a little concerned about working for said owner. But HC jobs for the team with the best QB in the league in the middle of his prime don't come around too often.  I think every candidate would be able to look past the owner in this situation to get a chance at having Allen's prime years to chase a ring. I still think if they lose in the first round and thus fired McDermott a week earlier, Harbaugh very likely would have been their next HC, but this all happened after he was already lined up with the Giants.
