Top 10 in Cap Space

We are projected to have 31,000,000 next offseason. This rolls over and makes 47,000,000. Getting rid of Robinson saves like 8,000,000 and Tremble is like another 6,000,000 (I think that’s why Mitchell Evans is here). That’s over 60,000,000 plus there is the yearly cap increase and you can always move money around on Hunt, Brown, Horn, etc. We could have 80,000,000 in cap next offseason if we wanted it.

Ww cleared cap space with the moton deal and didn't use it

It's better to clear the cap space and not use it than clear it and then overspend on a player out of need and them not live up to the contract.

Clear it this year, roll it over and spend it next year on a player worthy of the contract.

I was referring more to the unnecessary moton ext moreso than anything else.  If we redid his deal to bring someone in, sure fine, but to unnecessarily free up space, and add money to his deal on the back end was fuging stupid

He’s still playing well enough to make it worth it (if he can stay healthy)

So I have no problem with it since the cap space rolls over anyways.  Everyone complains that we don’t keep our good players around, and then complain when we extend one of our steadiest players of the last decade.

The ''use it'' part is likely to carry over into 2026...that's an advantage as we move forward.

Considering the cap hell, and void years under Fitterer this level of discipline, and mature moves is what allows you to operate with actual cap space like other well run teams.

There's a limit to how many times a solid player should be extend. Age catches up to everyone.
