And Canales is not him either. A snake oil salesman just not as bad as Rhule. Offensive guru he is not. Bryce is ass but I didn’t see wide open receivers today did you?  Some scheme

Receivers arent wide open because Bryce cant throw the ball further than 20 yards down field, The field is condensed.  The secondary can throw 9 in the box or be really aggressive because there isn’t a threat of a post route. That’s not a Canales issue that’s a Bryce thing,

He’s smart but he’s physically limited. Glad you are finally seeing it.

I don't think the QB room was Morgan's call.

So here's my thing. Either the QB room was his call in which case, I don't trust him to pick toilet paper for a campground bathroom, or Tepper didn't step back and is indeed dictating the moves of this organization like many of us have been saying all along.

I don't think he's stepped back at all and has doubled and even tripled down on proving his decision to draft Bryce was the correct one. My suspicion is even if Bryce is not extended or his 5th year signed, Tepper will once again mortgage the farm to trade up and prove his superiority again and draft his guy.

And if what I suspect is correct, and a lowly fan like myself sees it, anyone with any actual football experience is going to see it too and stay the hell away from this franchise.

I don't know why Roger Goodell and the rest of the owners punished the fans by selling the franchise to Tepper. Wasn't Super Bowl 50 and watching Cam get speared over and over to the head a big enough fug you?

I think Jayden Maiava is a logical target.  I assume Mendoza, Simpson and Moore are gone providing they all come out.  Maiava should be easily available in the second at least by current projections.  I don’t want to mess with a small QB (like Mateer).  Sellers ain’t ready and Nessimeyer and Allar ain’t it.  Still think Carson Beck could help as a developmental back up.

Yep to the condensed playing field we are working with. Defense has all kinds of advantages.
Hia balls up the middle seem to have velocity if he is mechanically sound. But in general and especially the boundary stuff, he doesn’t have a lot zip. So one more advantage to coverage guys.

I wanted to give Bryce one last chance but he has proven for 2.5 years who he is. They have built everything around him and he still continues to fail miserably.  I'm fully out on Bryce.

Canales I want to give another shot. I do think him and Morgan are building something and I do think the whole roster is getting better bit by bit. But Bryce is so limited he's an anchor on this team dragging everything down. He needs to go. Rebuild the entire qb room with no tepper strings attached and I do think the team will improve.

The thing that really sticks me with Canales is, if you’ve worked your whole life to reach the pinnacle of the coaching profession, and you finally get the opportunity to become one of only 32 people in the world doing it…  and you decide to commit so hard to this fuging bum who will not only get you fired if you stick with him, but will likely tank your chances of ever getting the opportunity to do it again.  That’s why it HAS to be Tepper’s call.  IT ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE.  Everyone, coach or not, has a threshold and a survival instinct attached to it - and the thought that DC hasn’t reached that point yet with the reputation he has as a QB whisperer while the guy he keeps trotting out there ha solidified himself as the worst starting QB in league history?  And again, that’s in the face of know DC needs and prefers guys with the physical tools to sling the football.  It just makes no fuging sense.  And it pisses me off even more with Tepper because you see all this and you’re still forcing him to play Bryce??????  You’re supposed to be the self-made, intelligent dude, and you are so fuging stubborn you choose to cut your nose off to spite your face every fuging Sunday you play this bitch.  It’s insane.

I look at like there could have been an agreement to give Bryce two years while they build the team out some more. Could have been three.

He has 7 more games to change peoples’ minds and I know full well that a nice job and a win next week gets a lot of people back on his ‘side’. Some still are. They are just laying low around here today.

If they had a suitable QB, Canales could open it up like he did in Tampa with Mayfield. This is on Young who can't throw it downfield. Why they jetisoned White at this time is beyond me. He could make all the throws needed. Now they have grandpa and Mighty Mouse left to work with. Pisses me off.

You have to be blind in one eye and can't see out the other to think Young is the guy.

    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
    • He wasn't a JAG, he's been a starter every year of his career. Didn't turn into the superstar it seemed like he might his rookie year, but I think part of that has been being misused. Guy was/is a baller.
