Is there a move worth making at the deadline to help out the team or will they be the third wheel and get some picks?

Not sure if busting up a team that appears to be fully gelled when healthy makes sense.

Maybe move Sexton since he's on an expiring, (fairly) cheap contract for a late 1st or early 2nd.

But the second you deal Sexton, Lamelo will get hurt, and we'll be stuck with Sion James playing PG.

I'd stand pat, let this team prove themselves and Lee prove himself.

Like I said earlier in this thread, if this team stays moderately healthy and doesn't make the playoffs, blow the entire thing up starting with Lee.

No way in hell they stay healthy and don't at least pass the hawks

I don't know if Melo is the best player and I think that's a good problem to have

I know what you're saying, and don't disagree.

But if you told the 30 current NBA GMs they had to start a team from scratch using any Charlotte Hornet, Lamelo would be the pick 30 times, and there wouldn't even be a second thought about it.

But I do love this team's balance.  We haven't been this good, all over the court since the mid 90s.

And yet there is part of me that knows this will all fall apart in true Hornets fashion.

Second thought: Brandon Miller.  Not even close.

But LaMelo is also a stud, as is Kon, let’s just enjoy this for now.  No need for changes now.  Maybe next year.

But, why?  Lonzo is done, how will he make this team better?  Do we need yet another injury risk?

With lamelo on the court, the Hornets this season so far avg 124.4 pts per 100. Which would be the best offense in NBA history. When he's off the court, they avg 112.. which would rank 27th for this season.

He might not be the best player and that's ok but he's 100% absolutely the engine that allows everyone around him to work.

IDK why, but according to the article there have been talks between the 2 clubs.  Don't be surprised if it happens, and also dont be surprised if it doesnt

I despise LaMelo, I think he's a clown and doesn't play through being hurt.  But he's the best player on the court when he's on the court.

I think Brandon Miller is an absolute beast.  But like I mentioned in my previous post, LaMelo would be the first pick of every GM in the league if they had to start a team from scratch with a Hornet.

Jaren Jackson Jr to the Jazz.  He's got to be hating life now.  Goes from a down trodden franchise in a city where you can at least enjoy yourself, to a down trodden franchise in the least fun location in the NBA.

Wonder if the Hornet's inquired about him.  Jazz got him for next to nothing.

I wouldn't call 3 first round picks nothing. I would have like to get him, I think he's an upgrade to miles but team chemistry is really high right now and makes the most sense to do nothing

    • Well there goes the bullied victim spiel.
    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
