It could happen the following season, but only if Bryce has a bad fourth year.

So if you're pinning any hope whatsoever on any potential QB competition for the 2026 season? Well, sorry but...

There's no way they could have gone through this season looking at the qb room and say, nah fam we good. I refuse to believe that.

Wouldn't mind adding Sam Howell (his skill set fits wwll with Canales scheme) but I doubt he'd be considered competition for the starting role.

I'm not buying they are all in on Young. If they are we have bigger problems than a short qb.

I'd obviously love Howell and we gotta do something to upgrade the QB room even if we do pickup Bryce's 5th year option. We can't go into another season with Bryce and the washed up ghost of what used to be Andy Dalton.

I think that is the issue, he has improved to "not very good" from "really bad."

Are we to assume this progression continues? If so, it probably means 2-3 more seasons before we see "franchise caliber" QB play on a consistent basis.

And I really don't think anyone buys into that notion of consistent improvement at this point.

Consistent is the operative word here.

He's shown he can be good.

He's shown he can even be very good.

But as far as consistency, that's where I'd ask the congregation to turn in their Bibles to Revaluation 3:15
