Evero is growing on me as DC

Between the influx of talent (Moehrig, Turk, Rosebloom, Ransom, Scourton, Princely, Jackson, Wallace, Brown III)

 keeping talent healthy - Horn

and the return of his all pro DT- Brown

he’s starting to put together a masterclass on defense

minus the Bills game the defense has done enough to get the team in winnable opportunities (SF and NO come to mind)

and he’s doing this without a certified edge yet

I’m in favor of letting this man cook, he makes second half adjustments as he gets a feel for the game

I'm enjoying the new defense, especially in contrast to what Evero trotted out there last season.

If he keeps this up, he's going to be getting some HC interviews, which I think was the reason that we retained him. And this year, he's earned those opportunities.

Best of luck to him.

recall that they likely kept Evero when they brought on Canales partially because they thought the issue was the talent he had to work with vs his gameplan. Figured "let's see what he can do when he has some talent to play with"

of course, doesn't explain our horrible defensive situation last year, but it's certainly turned around this season

The question is, do we resign him this offseason?

And, does he want to return here after we didn't allow him to interview with the Rams?

This will actually be one of the most interesting offseason storylines for us.

If your boss at work did you completely dirty, would you want to keep working for him if you had the chance to leave?

EE is gone, ya'll need to accept that.  Guys like him have egos and moral character.

I can subscribe to this.

For men with pride, it’s not about the money. The 2 things that I hope hook him in to staying:

1. His wife and kids are calling Charlotte home and don’t want to move.

2. He is now starting to see his vision unfold.

I humbly recant my EE bashing that I’ve done in the past. Guy is putting together a stout defense.

It looks like he's really starting to get his leadership role entrenched. I'm not a huge fan of his schemes at times, but I think we may lose him to a HC offer potentially because of that leadership quality. It's the trait I liked most in Ryans before we hired Frank, but he refused our interview request.

Unless he’s getting a HC spot, this is the rare time I appreciate having an owner with insanely deep pockets and a maniacal drive to win

I don’t care who was DC they were not going to have a chance they way the defense was neglected for the better part of three years.

Get him some more talent. Or whoever is DC.

As far as Evero, why go sideways when you have almost gotten a thing built? Tepper can’t stop him from taking a HC gig, and if I were him - unless I really hated it here - I’d wait for the HC opportunity.

Continuity is super important and we haven’t had it for years now, but are getting some.  Try to keep it.
