I like Tillis but I trust Dan to find another bean counter

He's ain't just a bean counter.  He's been in on visioning the squad, evals and does day-to-day work with Dan's scout team.  Much more involved than some would think.

I'm at the least happy Tillis & Eager have made it here to show guys how real folks work in front offices haha.

He fixed the OL. He fixed the DL.

I think some of you, don’t realize how bad Fitterer fuged this place up. poo roster, no money, no picks. He’s done a lot with little to work with. It takes time to fix what one of the worst GMs ever did

I swear this place is full of the most miserable fugs ever. We’re in the playoffs for the first time in 8 years and they’re still bitching. I guess nothing less than 17-0 and super bowls every season will suffice. God forbid something is going in the right direction and may take a few seasons to fully come to fruition.

I like how every positive is attributed to Tilis and every negative to Morgan. Remember it was Tilis celebrating the Brooks pick.

There are countless PFF dorks for hire.

We got him from KC. One of the gold standard orgs.
I like him and don’t want to lose him.
Especially inside the division.

PS I am not a Morgan basher. I am one that does not blame him for drafting Young.
I hope he rewards me with a new QB soon or I might change up.

I like him and prefer he stays. I find the way people credit him for things they like but not blaming him for the bad to be amusing.

That’s why I’m not worried. Eric Eager would likely just move into that role.

I probably don’t know what the bad is. Wharton? I think he was influential in that decision. Not my favorite. But they aren’t perfect and they are not gonna be perfect.

In all seriousness, what has Dan done to earn any level of trust at this point? If we point at this year's draft as a huge success, we have to point at last years as a huge whiff to counterbalance it. His FA acquisitions have been even with what I'd consider a few serious overpays. His attention to the QB room is concerning at best. I haven't seen anything that gives me any confidence Dan has this franchise headed in the right direction enough to say he's earned my trust to get it right.

I mean, and I've said it recently, 2024 was Dan's first draft. It was also stunted by the residual effects of the Bryce trade. I think it's kind of cynical to say that the earlier draft was akin to a counterbalance of the later draft. I mean, you have every right to look at it that way, but it would seem to me that you'd put a premium on the improvement from year one to year two. That is certainly evidence of moving in the right direction, even if one considers it modest, or maybe even nominal, improvement (not that I necessarily view it that way). That being said, I don't think it's coincidental that the better draft was with Brandt Tillis. But, Dan hired Brandt Tillis. It's not a stretch to think that he can hire someone else with a similar analytical/PFF background.

I like Eager where he is. I like Tillis where he is. Don’t want to change it. At this point in time.

I think people are missing the context of what was behind the first two picks of 2024. Have argued it a fair amount and and been accused of pretzel logic/mental gymnastics to defend Morgan.

I don’t see it that way and if another person were in Morgan’s place and did it I would think the same thing.
Not gonna re argue it here, but I am in agreement with you on the improvement and growth sentiment.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
