Dan Morgan open to bringing in younger QB to develop/compete for backup role

I'm sticking with Bryce is Alex smith. Good enough to get a team to the playoffs while you build the rest of the team then you drop your stud in there. We have to get lucky with a QB in the 3-5 round the next two years. You cannot pay a QB like Bryce 50 million a year. Ask Miami and Arizona

That's disrespectful to Alex Smith tbh Alex Smith was one of the most efficient QBs. Bryce isn't even that.

2026 should be all about continuing to add talent, no matter the position, and winning the division. Unless something magical happens, we're still not winning the SB next year.

2027...IF we hit on another good draft, all bets are off. At that point, tell the Bengals to name their Burrow price. Herbert, tired of getting beat up in LA? Trade up for a QB in the deep 2027 class. Whatever it takes...but this roster is still being built in 2026, to drop the QB in in 2027. If we feel good about where we're at going into the 2027 season, take whatever QB swing you need to.

That's one thing I have suggested several times, building a team that is actually attractive for a free agent QB.

I'm not comparing the talent more so as he can get you to the playoffs but can't win a Superbowl. You can't pay that guy mega bucks but you can build the team with him on the roster then drop in a guy when the rest of the team is ready to win the whole thing

Really? He seems like the opposite of Alex Smith...

Bad enough to keep you out of the playoffs, but when you do make it, he plays one of his better games and might steal a win for you

That blueprint only works for superior talent scouting FOs.

It would not surprise me at all if we draft a late round QB... Carson Beck incoming?

i did a mock draft and Beck was available in round 4 which I took.  So maybe it's possible.

If he leads Miami to a national championship his stock will rise.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
