Daddy Tepper has clearly setup the game for all these folks to be shown the door together.   It all hinges on Bryce.   They all know it and have accepted it.

I doubt it. Who would hitch their wagon to Bryce? Bryce is pretty much a default excuse. Tepper may be a lot of things, but he isn't daft or oblivious to dynamics.

I'm sticking with Bryce is Alex smith. Good enough to get a team to the playoffs while you build the rest of the team then you drop your stud in there. We have to get lucky with a QB in the 3-5 round the next two years. You cannot pay a QB like Bryce 50 million a year. Ask Miami and Arizona

The sad thing is that Tua and Murray peaked a lot higher than Bryce. Those teams are warnings for not paying mediocre starters like franchise QBs but they're not equivalents to our situation. Those guys were significantly better than Bryce is now when they got paid.

I don’t know what he is. I feel like he the driving force behind the team being where it is the last few years with the QB obsession and that trade up at the root of it.

well, Dan helped draft him.  Bryce is a Dan guy.  Evero was already here.  Canales in too deep at this point.  He is past the point now of getting  a shot with someone else.  Morgan concedes all the contracts now align.

So yeah, I think Tepper has aligned it all.  They can sink or swim.  If they swim? Great.  But when they sink it's really setup for a clean sweep at this point.  Bryce goes, Dave goes, Evero goes, Morgan goes.   Tepper can claim he gave them a good 4-5 year try.  Which is fair.

"Compete" with the current version of Andy Dalton? Good grief. We're obviously aiming high. LOL

Jake Plummer come on down!!! Dan Morgan has on opportunity for you.   I mean, we all know Dan can't bring in an actual young NFL QB.   They would have an auto issue in camp.  They have to bring in bodies that can't compete with anyone.

I can't take Morgan seriously when he says that they value Dalton. Dalton was washed last year, blatantly obvious to even the most casual NFL fan. So we extend him for 2 years, he goes in one game, and shits the bed worse than he did last year. Who could have predicted it right? It's like listening to Fitterer talk. It just sounds like a bunch of BS instead of just handing the mic to the guy really running the show.

Come on down Big daddy Dave. We know it's you behind the curtain.

100% agree. The lazy Tepper takes are tired. Was he a monumental F up for years?  Yes,  of course.

He also wants to win at any cost. A lifetime commitment to Bryce Young does not exist.

In no way did I suggest that though.  I merely said Tepper is setting the table for a complete clean sweep to dump everything in the trash can.   So there was really no need to replace Evero.  You just align him the rest of the group.  Canales has past the stage where he gets a shot at another QB.

I would suspect if things go meh next year...literally everyone is gone.  Tepper is always evolving.  All he is doing is ending his greatest mistake which is having things misaligned where bad people stay and carry over to the next era.  He seems to be making sure that is over IMO

Dan has also gone out of his way to tell everyone he is a staunch BY guy. I have no idea why people don't believe him when he says these things. Just because he is a former Panther doesn't mean he's incapable of making mistakes.

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
