i did a mock draft and Beck was available in round 4 which I took.  So maybe it's possible.

If he leads Miami to a national championship his stock will rise.

I don't see an NFL starter in Beck.

He's an absolute dawg, but you're always waiting for the next mistake with him and his deep ball is mediocre.

well, Dan helped draft him.  Bryce is a Dan guy.  Evero was already here.  Canales in too deep at this point.  He is past the point now of getting  a shot with someone else.  Morgan concedes all the contracts now align.

So yeah, I think Tepper has aligned it all.  They can sink or swim.  If they swim? Great.  But when they sink it's really setup for a clean sweep at this point.  Bryce goes, Dave goes, Evero goes, Morgan goes.   Tepper can claim he gave them a good 4-5 year try.  Which is fair.

We're not in a position to sweep the room clear.

We've clearly improved as a team under Morgan / Canales / Evero. They're just hamstrung by Young's poor play and the Draft picks they lost acquiring him.

If Tepper expects a quick turn around after the crater Fitterer left us in then he's a fool.

Daddy Tepper has clearly setup the game for all these folks to be shown the door together.   It all hinges on Bryce.   They all know it and have accepted it.

These are difficult, costly roles for Tepper to fill given his reputation and so far Bryce has done the worst job of them all. I'm not buying that Mr. Analytics is hinging the whole front office on some gut feeling about Bryce's potential. Nonsensical narrative from a fanbase still mad he meddled with the pick.

Canales is clearly tied to Bryce at this point.  I think that's hard to deny.   I would say Morgan now is as well.

I don't think Tepper is an anything guy.  He is a get me winning team guy.  And now he is simply stuck where he knows reasonable time is now PR for his future hires.

and I think Tepper did what every single owner would do with Bryce.  I think the move to #1 was Tepper.    He listened to the people he hired to do the job and they sold him on Bryce.  So Bryce it was.  He listened to the GM office.

Mateer, Allar, etc.  There are several who are interesting.   I would look into these:

Most of those guys should be available in the 5th to UDFA range too. We have a chance to finally bring in a good #3 developmental guy or potentially a #2 upgrade.

Yeah, he isn't one of these top end talent/arm guys. He has middling talent and he's a bit of a headcase.

That's squarely a 7th or later acquisition for him, IMO.

Trubisky is available. Bills fans seem to think he will leave. Wouldn’t mind having him as a back up option.

Looks like Drew Allan’s injury pushed him all the way down to rounds 5-7 which would be a hell of a bargain to develop.

Trubisky would be a top 5 backup QB with potential for long term replacement stretches if Bryce gets benched.

The issue will be price.

Also a big fan of Allar late in the draft. THAT is the kind of injury gamble you take. Not in the 2nd but on a 5th-7th rounder that was formerly a top 2 round prospect.

100% agree. The lazy Tepper takes are tired. Was he a monumental F up for years?  Yes,  of course.

He also wants to win at any cost. A lifetime commitment to Bryce Young does not exist.

A team that wants to win at any cost rolls with Young and Dalton for 3 years?

As well as we scouted and drafted this season if we can scout similarly this season we can find our own Tyler Shough type in the 3-5 round. Someone who csb takeover after the 5th year option runs out

I honestly don't think I can watch BY for 5 yrs...

I dont think he has the right attitude to make it in the NFL.   The NFL is tough and almost every time he has faced adversity,  including this year, he has looked bad.

Seems a little mentally week to lead a NFL team.  I know Darnold seems to have turned his mental issues around, but he wasn't having them in college on a loaded team like Beck did in UGA.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
