Is J-Stew a team propagandist?

I like J-Stew soo I'm here for it lol

I like him too, but I'm still skeptical of his take. It's too early to be saying that in my opinion, based upon lingering questions over three seasons. Depending upon which stats/metrics you give credence to, Bryce is still bottom third of the league.

OK, let me first say that I can't get any Twitter link to embed--using "X" or "Twitter" or whatever, and I'm tired of trying.

Now, I must say that I see Panthers stuff in Facebook on occasion as I'm part of some group, but I see Panthers stuff even less on the cesspool that is now X, but as a follower of the official Panthers Twitter, stuff pops up on that feed too. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised that agents of the organization would be putting out tweets like this:

He's not even trying to be objective. It stands to make sense though. In order to get better information, you have to go to national sources like Kurt Warner.

I'm not necessarily trying to pick on J-Stew, per se, but I can't take him seriously, as even some past Panthers players, like Greg Olsen for example, don't seem like they're just trying to cater to Panthers Nation, just saying hollow words to make everyone feel good.

I just wonder why here on the Carolina Huddle, there seems to be more objectivity, or at least more critical thinking and serious discussion than most other social media sources on the Panthers. It's interesting. There is a significant difference.

For all the changes and the seeming decline in popularity to whatever degree, the Carolina Huddle still has its place and plays a big part in overall Panthers fandom. We want to be happy, joyous and cheer for the Panthers, but we aren't necessarily trying to shoot sunshine up people's derrières either.

No hes a career panther whose loyalty to the team makes him a lifelong fan..... hes just a homer

Anyone who thinks Bryce Young is good enough to be a professional QB is either stupid, or being paid to act stupid.

I mean its arguable hes not a starter (I did not say high level starter) but hes deff good enough to be a back up raging isn't gonna change being stuck with him, just hope for the best.

You'd love cable news

The “news” media is in a sad state. My opinions on what news media should be vs. what entertainment media should be is very different. I don’t need objectivity in my sports media, and I don’t really care about any teams other than the ones I root for. I was also very vocally critical towards the end of the season about how stupid our local media was for every week something went good for us talking to our coach and team like they had already clinched the division when there were many weeks left.

However, I don’t need a member of the Panthers media team to fake any objectivity or hold back compliments from Panthers players just because I feel some type of way, and I do think it would be better for the team’s brand if our former players in the media threw away the mask of over objectivity. Other former players for other organizations don’t, but since we’re just the little ol Panthers we have to accept that? No thanks.

J. Stew is mostly homer and also isn't ever going to be a neutral party for a ton of reasons. On the Panthers payroll, ACTUAL fan of the team, experience as an NFL player, etc, etc.

Leave the man and his opinions alone and don't trash a former Panthers great for something so trivial.

You don't have to agree. He isn't trying to brainwash anyone.

"Trash" is very much hyperbole, I would never "trash" Stew.

I must admit, however, that "Homer" is the better word, especially with the realization of what's happening in America during these times. Sensitivities are up.

"Homer," is the better term.

On an off note, you don't have to be Dave Canales to be a lifelong fan. Get it?

You went hyperbole in the thread title, bruh. Propagandist??? WTF.

He is a homer. We got a ton of them, Reddit's full of them, etc, etc. They all might be somewhat to very annoying but J. Stew has a pass that none of them do. He gets the Luke, Olsen, Cam, TD, etc pass of being one of us and also LEADING us.

Also, the Huddle should really be more attuned to going after former players in the post-Dan Morgan incident era. We all may have varying opinions of Dan of some of the poo that gets thrown his way is absolutely unconscionable. Like the head injury jabs, etc. We have no reason to be doing that poo to our own.

Well, I did admit "Homer" was a better word. "Propaganda," on its face is not hyperbolic in this sense, nor is it necessarily a negative word. Only due to fairly recent events is there a fully negative connotation (which I also alluded to), so I don't know what to tell you.

@LinvilleGorge or any mod feel free to change the term. Thanks.

    • I think he has closed the gap a little bit between him and a backup coming in and badly showing him up.  But not so much that someone could not come in and make the offense look like Andy did in Seattle week 3 2023. That poo was night and day to Bryce was putting out.  So, they are in a sense playing with fire by getting rid of Dalton and actually trying to bring in someone to push him.
    • Some people have been beaten down so long they have no standards. Can't be reasoned with.
    • Getting better, might be fairly charitable. We finished 1-3 with the pressure on. That is for sure not trending up.  I don’t see a clear run of performances that prove he has taken it to another level. Not yet.  I would say he played really well in the WC game. And folded on that last series where we still had a chance. I think he threw one good ball. That last series is the kind of thing a player is supposed to learn from and not repeat. We have to see him do it before we can credit him for doing it.    I would also say he has not done enough of playing at his ceiling and what we should expect as the game in game out norm is still not established.  We gonna get MNF in SF or we gonna get the WC game? Seattle or Atlanta yardage record?   Besides that he has three years of horrendous play to start the season hanging over him. Are we going to get that again or will he be over that? We can’t know that. Mind you, that isn‘t two of three it is three of three he has yet to play well to start the year as a pro. Ofer.    So, many questions remain.    As far as weapons and help… said it before. Fix the OL so we can protect him.  It is time for a 1.1 pick in his 4th season, third year in the same offense, to elevate the players we have given him. You can’t keep up the level of investment dedicated to propping him up, you have to prop up the defense too and get some balance.
