2026 Charlotte Hornets

The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul

The top 2 in the league and 3 of the top 21 in 3 pointers made. It isn't the last month it's how they play. I'm fine with them shooting a ton of threes but they need to tweak the formula a bit. When they have a big lead they need to start driving to the basket, when games get tight down the stretch they need to start driving to the fuging basket. Miller needs to be the guy. Ball is afraid of getting hurt and Kon is a rookie.

Ball also takes an absurd amount of contact with no calls driving to the basket, so I kinda get why he doesn't want to do it.

Hornets fans are probably the worst homers in the NBA when it comes to LaMelo. Buddy is a supermax player and the entire offense goes through him. If he can't drive to the basket contact or no contact what are we even doing?

At this point I just want to defeat the Heat. Anything else is a bonus.

IF they can get in, I think they can make the Detroit series closer than it should be. Really like the idea of being the 8, taking a couple games off the 1 seed to build momentum into next year. They're obviously not ready to do much more yet, but think a little playoff success would do wonders to cap this year.

LaMelo gets the Cam treatment from the refs.  If they treated him as the superstar that he is, this whole team would look totally different.

I don't really get the Cam parallels. Cam was a monster and even with the refs not giving him his due he still ate. Where it finally had an impact was when they let defenses headhunt him.

There are probably some refs that don't like LaMelo for reasons people can determine on their own. But I think most of the noncalls are due to us being a small market team and the league and the refs just giving zero fưcks if we continue to exist.

At the end of the day it's up to LaMelo to rise above it all. Nobody is out there trying to take his head off. He needs to add some bulk in the offseason assert himself and get physical in the paint and take any fouls that might come along the way and gradually you will see the tide turn. But nothing is going to change for the better for him or the team if he just continues to limit himself to acrobatic threes from halfcourt. That's just the reality of the situation.

The refs called very few fouls on our last 4 opponents.  Or at least it felt that way.  Kon was getting mugged

That isn't a ref problem.

You're being a bit hard on him here bro. He drives plenty but he uses it to draw defenses and assist/lob more often than not and it's working. It's not a fluke that so much of the team is shooting well. The game revolves around LaMelo and he's feeding them. We also have a lot of guys who are good at driving to the basket so we don't need him to be Derrick Rose out there.

You may have a point with the three chucking but it's too early to call that a huge problem. This is the best the team has looked since Shinn left town.

Would like to see white Kon and melo to combine for 30 3 point attempts.

Miller Williams green and miles to have about 12-15 with most of those being miller and williams

0 for James kalk and moose

I think 40-45 attempts is where we want to be. Up over 50 is too many unless they are just making everything

    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
