I don't understand this one at all. The Dolphins just signed Malik Willis and then traded away his only weapon at WR.

I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.

The athletic football show said today that they knew that going in eyes wide open. Said the market wasnt what willis was expecting so they took what they could get.  How much is true I have no idea but it does kindof track.  Generational wealth to lead a football team to a top 5 pick.  Sure why not

Yep, I'd sign it. From a pure football perspective, it sucks. From a winning at life perspective, he literally just won the lottery.

He will be the bridge qb until the guy they draft is ready to start. He will keep fans interested until the next draft at least. I suppose he could prove to be their guy but he has a bad team to carry and I don't think he can.
