Why trading up in 2026 is a bad idea.

I would love to see us move up and take Styles but IMO that would cost us s 2027 first round pick.

Our schedule next year is brutal.  We will play every division winner and we were under .500.  This is brutal and the possibility of having a top 5 pick is very possible.  The bad season would almost certainly be because Young had a bad or mediocre season.  Giving up a first-round pick would cost us the chance to get a replacement for Young. 

Thoughts?

I think that is a better idea especially since the LB group this year is pretty strong but the thought of us getting Styles is tempting.  I would trade up for him ONLY if we don't have to give up a 1st next year.

We have way too many needs to trade up. There will be good prospects available throughout that also fit a need. If you had a crystal ball that could predict future All-Pros and HOFers, sure. But there's no sure things in the draft. Great prospects bust every draft and some mid to late rounders end up being very good pros.

I agree, I think the cost to get him would be too high.  My point is our 2026 schedule is going to be very tough to outperform 2025 and we'd be in a position to have a top 5 to 10 pick.

Depends really say Downs or Bain fall to 15 im all for moving up a couples spots. Looking at mock drafts I'd probably prefer to trade down but you cant rule anything out definitely until we actually pick

Just have to take what comes to us. Styles is going top 10 easily and top 5 is a real possibility. That trade up cost is going to be ridiculous. Stay put, take the BPA or if we get a good offer, move down a little and see if we can't pick up an extra 2nd or early 3rd. We have needs at S, LB and IOL and day 2 is a good place to find them. Tackle may be in play in the 2nd as well depending on who falls.

2024 traded up for Jonathan Brooks and XL

2025 traded up for Nick Scourton.  

1 out of 7.  Hopefully, Morgan is still humbled by his '24 draft and won't think about it.

Scariest part of the Little trade was Hurney said if Burns hadn't been there, Little would have been the pick in the 1st. Thank you to Daniel Snyder for being a meddling idiot and taking Haskins at 15.
