Painfully obvious its a defensive issue at this point maybe a bit of redemption for freddie.

They suck defensively.

This teams going no were.

Under what conditions do they suck defensively? Because they played as solid a defensive game as we've seen all season the night before against Edmonton.

Is it RBA's pairings? They've remained pretty consistent since Slavin came back.

I mean, I don't follow the stats and analytics, but can someone point to a specific 5v5 analytic that shows us where or who the problem is?

Blue line is a total mess. Miller is up and down. Ghost is hurt always. Chatty isn’t playing to his level like last year. Slavin played all world vs Edmonton but has been just ok. Boom is rookie. Walker has been our best dman.  The blue has not jelled yet and that is the problem. To a man, they don’t look like puzzle pieces that fit. That will leave and already average goalie room out to drive.

triple that with guys like Blake that can’t play defense to save his life and turns it over. This is the team.

I think its the pairings and Rods compete inability to get chemistry out of them with 4lhd and 2rhd.

Nikishin is a rookie and he makes rookie mistakes (Although ill say given hes played third pairing minutes and his offensive production hes gonna be a 20g 65+ point dman in the near future)

Miller is the weakest link IMO hes completly boom or bust, he leads the team in giveaways and goals given up off of them.

We gave up a 1st for him to stand around and look clueless. Brett Burns would have been a better option.

Burns offense may have dropped off but his defense and PK were still great.  I don’t think Tulsky has done that great of a job. Sure ehlers and finding Bussi. But I’m not sold on him. If the canes don’t make it to the Stanley cup, he has got to go.

Rods the one who needs to go if they don't win a cup soon, Overall I like the way Tulsky operates, do i wish he had pivoted to several smaller moves instead of going all in on a big acquisition? Obviously.

But RBA is the one I'm locked onto, he is too stuck in his ways and if if "his way" can't get somthing done he just triples down and proves his insanity by trying the same stupid crap over and over, the facebook casuals will be like but but but 8 years in a row making the playoffs.... yes we'll guess what we should have at least a cup to show for it, yes only one team wins every year but this year will be the 8th consecutive year making the playoffs.... heck none of us even get excited about that and haven't in four years minimum.  Our top guys are nearing the peak of their prime the time is now, but the canes seem content to stand pat and "make the playoffs" anther 5-8 years in a row.

Although as I look at the NHL right now, I do think if they can pull their heads from their asses no Florida in the playoffs does represent the Canes best chance of winning a cup....

The Aves record is inflated by how bad the west is this year....   just realized the #9 eastern team (Columbus Blue Jackets) would currently be the #4 team in the west)
