I wouldn't go that far, there's no reason to extend him, it's a 1-year deal for Pickett, and with Bryce under contract for 2 more, I don't think we are at that point until we see a 9+ win season.

Yall are overreacting a bit. Is the offense really going to look that much different with Pickett? No. The answer is no. Pull up the Pickett highlights they are identical.

Better question, what young, athletic / mobile QB did you ''think'' they were going to be able to sign for 4M + incentives?

As a matter of fact, let's say for 10M...who do you think that QB would be...?

I was hoping for Lance based on upside, but it's a toss-up for these back-ups. The HOPE is that they never play anyway.

to my knowledge no qb has ever played through their 5th year option and walked.  If you dont think talks are preliminary going on with our front office and his agents then I am not sure what to tell you.  The team is looking for any bright spot to extend him and signing Kenny fuging pickett is exhibit a, b and c.  We are not a serious franchise and operate on feels.

 

Will it happen this off season, probably not but it wouldnt surprise me, will it happen if bryce replicates his stats and we are something like 3-3.  Without a doubt they pay him

We also see QB's released / traded etc before that point to. 

I don't need you to tell me anything, I'm aware it could happen, I'm also aware Bryce hasn't done enough to warrant one at this time. So regardless of history we have to wait and see.

A 4th round pick won’t be our future QB. Might as well just wait for next year and pick a QB high.. No half measures. Might be possible with our tough schedule and BY as our QB. I think it’s smart to draft OL/secondary depth in the middle rounds this year. QB next year.  This team needs every draft pick desperately. Just my opinion.
