At this point its Sadiq or bust... A

Recommended Posts

After all of these outstanding additions and signings and even feeling the left tackle hole I think BPA within range not necessarily guarant to be to be there would be Kenyon Sadiq he fits the need he fits the dog that the Panthers love He's a freak he just looks so much like what we need infused in our offense.

I don't care that he's not a traditional tidying in the same vein as Warren or the guys from last year he blocks well enough he has probably the best 40 of any tight end ever He's 6'4 240 40-in vertical hands He's got just alpha energy all about him I think this makes too much sense to not happen The only reason I could see her not happening if it's somebody takes him before us Great job Dan get this done and I have not one single complaint.

He's not the best TE in this draft.

Not the best pure tight end but he's kind of a Swiss army knife Carolina can do a few different things with him.  He can probably fill in for a running back if need be

Sadiq will be good in NFL in right system.  He’s all hand catches and amazing route runner with 4.39 wheels.  He’s also possesses insane acceleration with quick change of direction and he is very twitchy.  He’s also a very good blocker and built like a brick wall.  You can confuse the poo of defenses with him.  He’s like another WR/TE/RB/FB.  Sadiq need to go to a team like SF.  He’s not your prototypical TE and if you draft to use him like one, you are an idiot.  The offense would need to be adjusted and I would line up that guy all over the field and tell other defenses to figure it out.  Would love to have him here if Canales can properly utilize his skill set.

Gronkowski, Olsen, Gonzalez, Shockey etc etc - they couldn't fill in at RB.

Why would I want a TE to fill in at RB?

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this fan bases infatuation with adding a high end TE?

Especially when we have some bigger bodies in T-Mac and Coker who can slide into the slot at times and provide the big dependable target over the middle that most teams use their TE for.

I mean, sure, it would be nice to have one of those elite TE's, but I feel like that's a position your better off going cheap with a committee who each bring something different to the table while spending our cap room on the more important positions.

I like the potential we saw from Evans this year, Sanders could be a best if he can stay healthy, and Tremble has improved as well.  Just feels like spending high draft picks or cap space on other needs and more important positions is a better use of our resources than splashing on a TE in the draft or FA.

Are those guys on the level of the Bowers or McBride's of the world?  Of course not, but we also are paying a fraction of the cost on our TE room than they are, and we're able to use that money for other needs.

These “tight ends” don’t really play tight end Sadiq has like 0 catches as an inline tight end. They did a ton of HBack Screens and wheel routes and then they lined him up in the slot to run a straight line past the LB and dropped it in to him. There’s no refined tight end routes with a release off the line. Same with Stowers, you’re looking at super athletic Tommy Tremble’s. Don’t get tricked, watch the tape.
