Dane Bruegler’s 3rd draft with writeups from ‘The Beast’ in Athletic

Strange things happen in the draft just want them to hit on their guy...I don't follow college football so I just go off you guys' opinions and write ups etc

My perfect draft would be the Panthers walking away from the draft with both Fano and Rodriguez. But they will get neither I'm afraid.

I mean, it's possible, but does Canales (and Dan and Brandt) really feel like investing a first in a guy that will likely ride the bench this season? I don't see him, or any of them really, taking any starter's job on the O-line.

The only way I think a G makes sense there is if he converts to C.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Now if this guy has the skillset and the mindset to be a Center... then having a road grader type guy there is definitely something we can work with.

Everybody has their wishlist, but I'm not sure that Fano is going to be better than Miller, Freeling or Proctor. Rodriguez is a dawg, but he's no Luke. I would love to get him though.

Utah decided to play Lomu at LT and Fano at RT and Fano has the (now disputed) combine report about his short arms so that gives me pause.  Proctor worries me about his ability to move side to side against quick edge rushers.  You grab Freeling right away at 19 if he is there; great measurables, high ceiling, and ability to play LT. That would be an A+.

I like OT. I’d prefer Proctor due to versatility and Freeling due to being the prototype if avail. I’m now super big into multi tool OL since Brady C, sucks the injury bug keeps getting him. My dream draft would be to come away with Proctor and Zuhn on the OL and a stud MLB in between that.

I’m low on Fano. The power just doesn’t show up for me. I think play strength translates. I’d much rather my OT get beat the long way home vs getting their face ran through.

You want Fano then. I would be ecstatic if they somehow got him. But there's no way he falls that far.

One of the 12 thousand mock drafts that I've seen lately had us picking him, which I was stoked about. He has been sliding a bit it seems (maybe it's those short arms) so it's possible. I like that he's played on the left and right sides

Im not a fan of taking a OT in the 1st this year. Our roster isnt good enough to take the luxury of drafting a position that will barely see the field with all going well. Id be all over taking a toolsy guy in the 3rd or 4th if ones available

I agree with you. Plus GMs and coaches feel the same, they want to win NOW, not next.

I would break this idea if feeling or my top guy proctor somehow made it 19, real LTs are the hardest spot to fill, even over QB. I think either can play LT.

Unless the bloke can cover 4 positions across the line for injury is the only way I'd take him this year and Proctor the big unit probably could
