I guess it's so we don't have to force a UDFA QB to be in serious consideration for QB3.  QB4 will be just a camp arm and maybe a stash on the PS if he looks half way decent.

They will not bring in competition for Bryce if you haven't figured that out by now.  He's either going to sink or swim.  The next QB with a legit arm on this team will be when we move on from Bryce.  I think this is the ramifications from the Darnold/Mayfield debacle.

Man oh man talk about getting it wrong coming And going. Have two viable arms and don’t stay the course so you draft a noodle arm that stands on his tippy toes to see, they make us go the full 5 years waiting for him to pan out.

Brendan Donahue, the #2 most accurate mock drafter over the past five NFL seasonsaccording to The Huddle Report, gives you his 2026 NFL Mock Draft

Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.

After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.

I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem

^This man gets it.  I know OT is not sexy like Edge, WR or even CB, but if a team is deficient at tackle bad things happen.

This is our tackle situation:

- Out for the year...at least

-JAG FA swing tackle just for the season

-Aging, ailing  RT with only two years left

-One-year 'meh' rent-a-tackle in hopes Ickey can come back in '27

That's it fellas.  That's what we are working with.  It would be damn near dereliction of duty for Dan to go into camp like this.

Morgan did a great job getting Walker. First off, credit.

Tackle is the most obvious and critical position to address and it became so the minute Icky went down.

WRs are nice safeties and corners are nice but the oline is the heart of he offense and you look at the track record of the guy we have running it, he can not operate without soldi protection and a stout running game.We have a lot of people out there who just do not get it. Sorry to have to say it they will be insulted. But this is just one of those things that left insufficiently addressed will ruin a season and with this QB and the breaks people give him, maybe many more seasons if they excuse their way into extending him by saying well the OL was the problem

Also, I think Schrager has a pretty good feel on the Panthers as far as national guys go.

Wouldn't surprise me if plan number one is Thieneman. McShay echoed it recently on one of his pod appereances where teams/players he felt most confident in, the 2nd one out of his mouth was Thieneman to the Panthers.

If he's gone, trade down is our next favorite option IMO since we may like guys like Rodriguez and KC more than others in the supposed 19 range.

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
