Brugler has him as TE1 and going to the Ravens in the first.  Apparently Sadiq's football IQ is pretty high (interviewed very well).  Also he was an WR and CB in high school.  This is why I always thought his route running was solid.  I'm sure it needs some polishing but for a TE it's pretty good.

nfl.com

Built like a bodyguard with a compact, well-defined frame.

Capable of running a robust route tree.

Gets in and out of breaks with good snap and separation.

Vandalizes defensive seams with impunity against man coverage.

Survives collisions with catches thanks to his hand strength.

Shows off agility and acceleration after the catch.

Fits up run blocks with proper positioning and base width.

Grips and presses forward with moving feet to stay connected.

-Again I don't know if we should take him but if he goes to the right team he could become a scary weapon at the next level.  I just like him as a prospect.

Hard to interpret some of Brugler's opinions. Capable of running a robust route tree sounds like a lazy thing to say - I'm sure just about every slot TE is capable of running a full route tree... I want to know if he is currently able to (which from tape leads me to a no). Granted, it's pretty common for most receivers/TE not having a full route tree developed before they get drafted. Agility/acceleration after the catch hasn't shown up on his tape (at least his Oregon tape) for those dig/out breaking routes while it has for the seam and slant routes.

Agree he has a good physical build and he is very good running seam routes. His build definitely helps him to shield defenders and create a large target point for the QB. Drops were a concern, but it could be focus drops just like T-Mac was/is prone to. Run blocking is an accurate statement, but again, we have only seen him run block in the slot/backfield - inline blocking is a whole different animal.

With his athleticism, he definitely has a high ceiling. I just think he also has a low floor and don't like taking that big of a risk on a mid 1st rounder. I think this is a deep TE draft and would much rather target one in the 3rd or later.

He's very boom or bust to me - bust in terms of being worth a 1st round pick, not an out of the NFL in a few years type bust. I feel like he gives me Evan Engram vibes. Not saying that Evan Engram was/is a bad NFL player, just that most people would agree he shouldn't have been drafted in the 1st.

I think this may be the year...

I told mhs this same thought weeks ago, I think this year its broken. Few players- DTs, CBs and WRs. Some are ranked close to when the Panthers draft. Plus QB in the 6th don't be crazy either. I've drafted Williams a few times in the 3rd for my mocks.

I still feel Proctor is going top 15, Id even say 90% top ten. Weeks ago the floor for him was the lions.

Heard this recently- teams have decent idea of who's going in the top 8-10. From 11-25 its a total mystery among all GMs, they just don't know.

I feel there will be a run on WR or OT before 19, but pure guess.

I feel the Panthers will trade off 3 spots of their draft picks, nothing crazy here given recent history.

I do feel CB is being overlooked by us fans, I feel its going to happen in rounds 1-3.

My faaar gut strain feels something is up about 19 and a team trading up for Ty SImpson. Rams, cards, Jets, Steelers, etc I think Dan is trying to force team that are wanting to draft TY, 19 is the best spot and Im listening.

Watch out for Mccoy wildcard for 19, he's injuried and lots of talk about his knee...he took a 30.

I think lots of trades will happen, I'd say around 7.......

I think TEs in general are just tough to project. Could be all the reason to avoid one in the first honestly.

If McCoy makes it to 19, that's as easy of a slam dunk pick you will get. Best corner in the draft in my opinion

Brother there's heavy noise about many teams flagged his knee, ala Will Johnson. Like some teams are "ok" with the reports, but not at 1st round cost.

I don't know if the Panthers are one of the team, but while his pro-day was balls out. He didn't do many movement drills, but it may be too good to pass. Johnson played fine.

Plus who is the starting NB for Panthers?? Thor, whos a UDFA coming off a bad injury? CSN, who lost his job to Thor? Does everyone know Michael Jackson only has one year and at the 30 door??

That's why he's my wildcard, he can already start this year. But I don't have his medicals nor would I think looking at his MRIs "that knee only has 3.76 years or 2,509 snaps before its broken"....

I'm curious if the knee concerns are smoke and mirrors from teams. Haven't seen any real details about what is making the knee a concern. The ACL injury makes sense, but that isn't the worst thing with the medical advances towards ACL surgeries and rehab.

I guess we will find out how concerned teams are by his medicals in the draft. There is no way he makes it to us at 19 unless the medicals are a red flag

Now this- I feel 95% all the Tmac downplaying/falling rumors was done my panthers org and there's was loads of it.

You maybe right and one or two are overfilling the media with "knee knee knee knee, but his knee, but other team flagged his knee, etc etc." He did visit the Panthers and took the whole year off.

Im still sticking with him as my wildcard. The word the main worry is his 2nd contract, like ??? So he balls out for 4 years(or 5) on the cheap and the worry is paying him top bag cause his knee doesn't have the mileage? I hate these medical deal.......Hell I member all the huddle screaming for Trey Smith falling until the 6th cause of "medicals"   ....... all that happened was he became the highest paid OG while playing great....while the Panthers took a long safety that got cut day 2.......they then dropped 163 million on OGs.......been nice to have a 4 yr rookie deal @ 8 million other than 163,000,000....ugh
