Even if he can't play in college anymore, which is still under review, someone in the NFL would take him in the supplemental draft or pay him as the highest paid undrafted free agent ever. The kid is too talented. He will get a shot as long as he completes his rehab and abstains from future gambling

Hopefully! He placed thousands of bets including a few confirmed while he was on the team at Indiana on them. I don’t want to see anyone lose millions of dollars over a dumb (but huge) mistake like that.

If he bet against his own team and threw a game? He's off my draft board. No question.

But if he bet on himself and tried to go out and kick ass? Id just level with him and say, dude I love the confidence, that is some Floyd Mayweather type of poo, but you just can't do it.

The problem is this year did too 12 months ago. Sellers, Nuss, Klubnik, and Arch were all pretty much unanimously first round picks. Then we ended up with only 1 legit NFL ready QB this year. Hopefully not the same for 2027

And it wasn't anyone mentioned previously. We don't really know what the new season will bring.  Nor do we know how good any of these guys will actually be.

I do think Moore and Arch are a lock but past those 2 we don’t know anything.

Lock as in a first round pick? Maybe, but if they struggle, throws some picks, that could change.  The difference between first round pick and later rounds is a small one.

I don't get it. I looked at about ten 'way too early' 2027 mocks, most of which had us around pick 10, a few in the teens and one at #20. None, I repeat none, had us taking a QB.  Only one briefly talked about it.  I'm sorry but if we are picking in the top half of the draft, QB HAS TO BE an option.  Picking in the top half means no playoffs and undoubtedly a losing record.  Four years of a losing records with one fluky playoff appearance and QB isn't even on the table for discussion?  Heck, some even has Atlanta considering a QB.  So they have written of Penix already, but Bryce is somehow a made man?  I'm really baffled.

there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.

it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl

is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying

There was no reason to believe in either Cam or Jake as a top tier elite QB before those seasons either. Cam was an "athletic" QB in most people's minds and his passing skills were open for debate. And there was a bit to that as he was still trying to get that massive power in his arm tamed to be able to put some touch on his passes. And then, he did it. Missiles became bombs, the firing lanes became points of finesse. Cam grew up and leveled up, while still retaining the ability and drive to truck people whenever he wanted.

And Jake... no one freaking believed in Jake except Jake himself. He got, and let's be honest with this, one chance in a losing game to make something out of his career. And he rose to the occasion like some kind of mythical hero and continued to do so for the season. He became a true leader for the team, and his gunslinger capabilities rehabbed Moose's career and created Smitty as a force in the league. Smitty went from a barker to a biter. But no one believed in Jake going in. And they trashed him on his way out.

Now Bryce... who knows? I've seen some improvement. Maybe he finds his footing. His teammates seem to love and respect him and that means a lot. The game should be moving at his speed now. He has weapons available to him and maybe a defense that doesn't just roll over by the third quarter. And his coach seems to be moving this team in the right direction. Could he do it? It's up to him, if he can find the magic like Jake and Cam did.

But don't doubt this, magic is really, really hard to find.

Arch is essentially too big to fail with his family. Not saying it’s right but he’s a lock. Moore would have been the #2 pick this year, he could have a bad year and still only fall to Jake Locker levels

Good take...Seattle just won with Sam Darnold throwing 4000 yds and 25 tds. Good numbers but not world beater. They played to his and the team's strengths. Drew Brees and Bryce's numbers are very similar their first 3 seasons. It'd take a BIG jump for Bryce to get close to that but even getting in the ballpark will make us a contender. Or  if he's our Alex Smith then we finally have a good roster for a rookie to walk into

Whatever happened along the way, Alex Smith came to be one of the toughest and most professional QBs to ever play the game. No shame on his name.

Exactly..dude made them a playoff contender. There's very few Mahomes'/Allens. You can win with a good QB even if it's not one of those guys

counterpoint - Reid recoginzed Smith was limited and he wasnt going to win a SB so he made a change.  He was 11-4 the year prior and 9-6 the year they drafted Patrick.  But again Reid recognized he had to elevate the qb position to win.  Just like Mcvay and Shannonhan

Right on, which was why I was saying if he's the guy that at least gets us to that point that's an upgrade from where we've been. We were a terrible situation for any QB to walk into so at very least I like that our rosters much better to support someone. It's on Bryce to show if he can do it...if not the next guy walks into a much better situation
