I suppose it could still be in prove it land, it just costs us a lot to get out of if he doesn’t. And still cheaper than what a bigger mistake would cost us.

It's Bryce's final chance to earn a long-term deal, and gives the Panthers FO a chance to see how he handles it and whether he can finally have sustained success over a full season.
