NEW: NFL strength of schedule for 2026!

5 easiest schedules:

1️⃣ Lions
2️⃣ Saints
3️⃣ Bengals
4️⃣ Browns
5️⃣ Jets

5 hardest schedules:

2️⃣8️⃣ Rams
2️⃣9️⃣ Cowboys
3️⃣0️⃣ Panthers
3️⃣1️⃣ Dolphins
3️⃣2️⃣ Cardinals

Unless Shough has a sophomore slump, I see the Saints as the favorites to win the division

Hard to say. Depends on who you play and when. Projected good teams end up sucking from either a key injury, bad play or just overall bad coaching. Likewise, some bad teams turn out better than expected from a breakout player, new coaches or overall better than expected performance.

Ultimately the question should be, did the Panthers and <insert name here> improve enough to move forward as part of continued efforts. If yes, they stay, if not, move on.

No need to over think it.

I could see us ending up in that 5-7 win range again, while people make excuses for Bryce again, Bryce gets a contract extension because the front office feels the same way, and then we get to watch this all over for 3+ more years.

If we win 5-7 games and then extend Bryce, then he better have thrown for about 4k yards, with 30 TDs, less than 10 INTs, but we ended up with that record because the defense was riddled with injuries and allowed 30 points a game and cost us 3-5 wins that Bryce himself put us in position to win until the defense blew it.

I said this ALL last season and will say it again this year.

Our record means diddly squat this year, I don't care if we have 0 wins or 17 wins, I only care about one thing and one thing only.

Bryce proves without a shadow of a doubt that he IS or ISN'T our long term solution at QB.

It's the only thing that matters for the same reason it sucks that this is the same thing as last year.  This needs to be determined, and if they can't determine it, then it's still telling the team the answer, just not the one they want to hear.

As right now we're in the ultimate QB purgatory, a position that dooms franchises for years.  Just look at a team like the Cardinals, who extended a better QB and it still screwed them over and haven't had a contending team in a long time.

People get too caught up on wins and losses when evaluating players, particularly QBs.  When people look at the final record and use that as a reason to want to extend a QB or not is just a fools errand.  If we had lost 2-3 more games last year because we didn't make a last second FG, I genuinely wonder if we would have just moved on from Bryce this offseason (like we should have been doing anyways IMHO).

I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.

I don't think this is the year for Carolina, unfortunately.  I think they will have to make a decision on the QB position-all we know is that Bryce has year 5, but a long term deal has not been signed--yet--and they would be smart to take a "wait and see" approach.  I have not kept up, and I see a path to upside for Bryce, but I do not think we have aggressively pursued a QB when our QB was mediocre to worse than mediocre.  yes, his numbers are improving--but he has adapted by eliminating what he does poorly and not improving on what he does poorly.  Just my take and I have no data to support this view.

Basically, we go as Bryce goes, so the approach is not to bring in a QB to have him compete until we find one, but it is to make Bryce as good as he can be--is that good enough? Season ticket holders buy the hope of winning rings, not winning 8 games.

Last year, Bryce had a resurgence.  Take away TMac and Rico Dowdle.  How good was he?  I still have hope.  Not a hater of plan A, but a hater because we have no plan B.

Imagine pooing that someone wants their team to win ten games

I mean, literally our division are the most winnable games.

Lions-L

Bears-L

If Burrow and Jackson are healthy-L's

Seattle-L

Denver-L

Vikings-W (if we catch them early in the schedule)

Packers-L (depends which Love shows up)

Pittsburgh-Rogers-L, other QB,-W

Cleveland-Depends on QB play-L (again depends on when we play them)

Philly-L

Even if we go 4-2 in the division, this is looking rough.
