Top 10 worst qb rooms from CBS sports. Panthers number 9

Recommended Posts

Number 9  Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.

Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.

Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup. This is Young's team.

Week 1 starter: Bryce Young

In his 3rd season he barely edged out rookie Joe Flacco and 2nd year QB Christian Ponder.

Magnificent.

young makes it hard to be a panther fan

The plus side is it is entertaining watching the Tepper's and their planetary sized egos burn through millions trying and failing to make their version of the Panthers successful.

what makes it so hard to be a Carolina Panthers fan is watching all these other NFL teams year after year  constantly make improvements or at least attempt to make improvents through the draft & or add legitimate upgrades in free agency to their Qb room.while all at the same time since drafting Bryce Young the Carolina Panthers refuse to draft or acquire any real competition at Qb

...just saying

Bryce Young would not have won the Cleveland Browns Qb competition either..just saying

Tell me what team he could win a QB competition for? He cant even win one here thats why they only bring in scrubs to back him up.

unless you have a bonafide superstar at Qb you bring in competition every year until you do & or at the very least you want a legitimate plan B in case of an injury .the problem in Carolina is they know Bryce ayoung most likely could not actually win a real legitimate NFL Qb competition right now & if & when he did not win that aforesaid Qb competition it would not only be a major distraction but a setback to his overall development.& moreover once the fans realized they had a much better Qb on the roster it would be alot of public pressure to start the better Qb  ...just saying

^^^^ This.

Plus, even if you have a superstar, keep trying to find a 1B. One bad hit can end a career. Joe Theismann is a perfect example of this. Worst thing that can happen is a team trades for your backup if he shows out in a game or 2.
