Thinking about seeing a Chiropractor

Hey guys I know that quite a few people on the huddle have had experiences with them and I was wondering who you would recommend. I know there are some bad rumors about chiropractors and I don't want to see someone shady. I've been having some middle-lower back stiffness/pain for a while.

Thanks

^agreed

I had an issue that a chiro specifically could help me on...and it worked.

Problem was they "preauthorized me" for my insurance, I prepaid the rest - then after it was all over they gave me some crap about a "wrong insurance code" and want almost 500 more bucks from me so beware.

I've gone to the chiro for 20 years off and on. Mine is a genuinely nice guy and they work with my insurance and when my insurance visits are over he lets me keep coming and pay the same price... and doesn't push me to come more than I want to.

I know that just like every other profession there are con artists but I've never had a bad experience.

As everybody has said already, chiropractors are a means of relief, not fixing.

I would try a lot of stretching and some motrin before I went to a chiro, though. I know people who got completely screwed both money wise and with bad practice. I had back pain for about a year, and I just stretched and did a lot of core strengthening exercises. Worked wonders and now my back doesn't hurt unless I stand for hours on end without any rest.

My chiropractor has worked wonders on my back/shoulder problems that I've had on and off for years. I don't go on a regular basis, though I'm convinced that I probably would be better off doing that. I go when it gets really bad, and he works it out great ... sometimes with the help of the massage therapist. When I got what turned out to be a pinched nerve in my neck/spine (which we didn't know until later), they did relieve a lot of the pain, but didn't "cure" it. Went to the orthopedist, who did the MRI to confirm, put me in PT and traction. Now, it's nearly gone ("cured"). I think in combo, the chiro and ortho were what I needed.

Chiro's are like acupuncture and reflexology. If they help you thats great but they should not be substituted for actual medical care. There are PCP's out there that work with and refer chiro's...shopping for the right PCP is important.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
