Considering a home theater....

I am looking into buying one soon, and want something good, but not too expensive.

Looking for good/great sound for movies and games but not wanting to spend over 500 or so $$$.

Any thoughts out there on what I need to look for, companies to shy away from, etc?

Just looked it up...

4.5 years ago

Bought a Onkyo TX-SR604 for $380 (90w/channel; HDMI, coax and optical audio)

Bought Polk audio RM6800 5.1 speaker set for $389

So under $800 for a setup that I think sounds wonderful.

Prices have also probably come down a good bit in the meantime.

go to any of the following...

tigerdirect.com

nuegg.com

ebay store -gear4less

or invest in a Mitsubishi Diamond series DLP. It has built in surround sound and a subwoofer output... Get the TV and a sub and youre done... Best picture around (opinion), biggest picture per dollar (fact) and awesome sound...

what kind of smoker you have now?

One of the cheapo's that they sell at Home Depot.

Electric, red, brinkman I think. It does a great job, but when smoking in the winter it's tough for it to maintain temp in the cool season.

Looking at getting one of these if I don't do the Theater.

    • Yeah and Phil Snow has the second best defense in the league 😄 I'm reminded of 2015 where we used to build up huge leads in the first half just to wind up winning by less than a single score because our second half performance stunk. We built up some pretty good rushing stats over an early stretch in the year. Didn't really help us against the Saints though, or in some of our other losses. Hell, go back and look at past Super Bowl winners. Is it always the team that's ranked first in one category or another? After all, stat rankings always tell you who the best team is, right? 🤔
    • Didn’t say it does, Scot.  But as I pointed out earlier, most of the negativity in this thread is due to one of two reasons: 1) Guys that don’t want anyone competing with or taking the starting gig from their boy Bryce. or  2) Guys who dislike/hate Deion and Shedeur.     Again, statistically, there are no grounds to pick Bryce as a starter over another QB over the last three seasons.  And statistically, what Shedeur is doing as a rookie is impressive thus far, whether he was Deion’s son or not.  So if it’s not statistics and the eye test, then why are people so fired up about it?  The tells are there.
