Crazy story behind JAGUAR GUY

so I was bored today and I started digging. Between the whole Aurora shootings and all I found an interesting story about a guy we all love and his march to fame. Let's get to it.

We all know him.

He became an internet-famous meme across message boards worldwide. One of those rare, perfect reaction gifs.

Before we get started, this gif also has four other great reactions in it. It's a very versatile gif.

First, the guy two or so rows behind and to the right of Jags Guy – with the watch – is complaining to his friend, but at the end of the gif he does the exact same hand-under-nose to hand-in-the-air-in-confusion motion almost like he and Jags Guy were somehow inexplicably connected telepathically. That or humans are just mindless followers who react like dominoes but that's for another thread. Next we have the older guy behind and to the left of Jags Guy shaking his head in utter disgust after voicing his frustrations.

Furthermore we have the creeper , the resident Sandusky candidate – to his right – sketching up the gif, giving it that pedophile swag. So much so that he too has branched off into his own internet meme around certain parts.

Finally we have the guy who is actually responsible for the entire meme and gif... Jags Guy's friend. Barely noticeable, down at the bottom left, throwing his hand at the scoreboard in disbelief prompting the classic reaction by Jags Guy and then scratching his head in awe.

Remember, this meme is not to be confused with the Jags Vagina Guy Meme.

But the Jags WTF Guy is so infamous that people even took time to make new image of the meme. Here's another

But what's the true story behind the Jags Guy?

Well first off, the reason behind his reaction made famous by the meme is due to Jack Del Rio (ex-Jaguars coach, new Broncos Defensive Coordinator) style football and specifically – play calling (Dirk Koetter, ex-Jaguars OC and new Falcons OC called plays but was always trumped by JDR, prompting the two's falling out last year when they exchanged a war of words in Jax newspapers.) In the 4th quarter, with 7 minutes left, Del Rio did what Del Rio does – run the ball no matter how many points his team is losing by, no matter how much time is available to make a comeback, and no matter how ridiculous his decision was for the situation at hand. With a 1st and goal from the 7 yard line, with 7 minutes left, Del Rio ran the ball on 1st and 2nd down (a staple of JDR's coaching career, and the plays resulting in this infamous Jags Guy gif.) Del Rio was totally oblivious to how much time was left, how passing would save clock, as well as being the 21st century method of putting points on the board in the NFL. After gaining 4 yards on those 2 runs he finally decided to let Trent Edwards (in for a hurt David Garrard) pass on 3rd, and 4th down – the 4th down attempt being intercepted in the end zone (a staple of Trent Edwards' much maligned career.)

Here's where **** gets weird. As it turns out... Jags Guy grew up in Littleton, Colorado. Does that sound familiar? Of course it does, because that's the home to Columbine High School – of which Jags Guy attended, during the exact same years of the Columbine High School Massacre. Here is the class of 99 Columbine Senior Yearbook Picture with the shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in the top left corner (view image to zoom in).

Jags Guy is dead center with his trademark befuddled expression

So after graduating from Columbine – thus surviving the school shooting – he later made his way to Jacksonville, Florida and became a fan of the team before becoming an overnight internet sensation after one fateful humid October Monday night. The rest is history, and that is the story behind Jags Guy, the go-to internet WTF reaction meme.

Spoiler: most of this was found on another f orum.
