Based on a cursory look at his contract, he would be tradeable if we got the right deal. His salary is guaranteed this year and next, but the other team would have to accept that up front. We'd have some cap hit this year, but not so much that we couldn't handle it.

Smith's recent extension was a very reasonable deal for us.

I think we have to listen given that we're going nowhere this year.

I want the best for us and for Smitty, but I just don't see how we could get fair value for him.

He's not in his prime anymore, but he's worth a 3rd IMO, and I don't see any team giving it up for him.
