Where are all you RR supporters from 2 weeks ago?

What happened to all of you that said RR was a defensive genius and just didn't have the pieces to put the puzzle together the last 2 years? There was a tweet that someone from Pro Football Talk said "Ron Rivera controlled Peyton in a game years ago when he was in San Diego, and due to that, he can shut down Russell Wilson." I then said that made no sense and was bull poo and about 10 people jumped on me about how I "know nothing" and Rivera was fine. Well, where are you now? This dude should not be employed at the head coaching level in this league.

also, 2 things:

1) If you NEED elite players on D in order to stop a rookie QB who isn't very impressive and is calling pretty basic plays, I'd argue you're no "defensive mastermind"

2) I'd like to think that If this team was owned by Walter White, he would send Ron Rivera to "Belize" right about now

Defensive Genius vs a Smittyless Delhomme

Yea... did any1 not realize he has been a career choke artist, even as a d. coord for years? I remember fans specifically citing that his defensive yards allowed rank didn't mean squat because he was so poor of a d. coach in any clutch situations.

I was his biggest suporter even through the bad start last season. Today is the breaking point for me. We're not going anywhere w. This dude. We need a tough old school tom caughlin, bill parcells type of coach that will put his foot up people's a$$. We have the talent, we are just not a rough team right now

The coach change isnt the only problem for the Panthers......Cam's got defenses focused on taking away his strenghs 100% of the time. Not sure he is ever going to figure it out. Lets not totally blame the coach. Cam needs to start making better decisions asap.

BTW- This might be a good time to sell your season tickets while you can still get face value.

    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
    • Alright man! We're here for it! Just glad you're keeping the doors open!
    • I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't. Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.
