fans favorite jag for the panthers for the last 17 years is probably JJ Jansen. Hes a fan favorite, played here for 17 and most games by a single panther, and during all that time has one single pro bowl so hes not even elite at that, but he is good, solid and loved.

gonna be interesting to see if tyler shough was a flash or real. in 9 games I admit he looked good, but I mean theres so many times when a qb came in lit it up for a bit and when the nfl figured them out they were busts. Sam Howell just the other year, first 9 games of 2023 (same number Shough started) 2500 yards passing, 14 tds, 9 INTS (1 game had 4 though so honestly closer to 14-5), and now basically bouncing around as a backup or practice squadder. Or Kyle Allen, or Matt Flynn. These things happen, I just think a lot of people are way to high on him.

in fairness, preseason SOS doesnt mean anything at all. Injuries and roster turnover dictate everything. I always think staying healthy is the biggest key to any decent season.

The "now it's been three years" Grade for the 2023 Draft

I dont want to admit it, but I almost feel bad for Frank Reich. Looking at that roster and how poorly managed Fitterer was...my fuging god, literally no one was succeeding in that situation. Just looking at that roster, like its such absolute dogshit. We're MILES ahead of where we were back then. -
DAY 3 - best remaining players
Carolina Cajun replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, considering we got 3 of the top 34 on that list, Im gonna consider day 3 a dubski -
AND...if people saw my post (besides you most likely), the value has to make sense. Safetys generally DONT get paid, and because of that, 2nd and 3rd contracts are much higher than rookies. IF Freeling pans out, then your talking about a contract significantly under what a decent OT costs, IF a Safety is just alright, then his rookie contract and 2nd contract are similar to rookie pay scales. Hell, Look at what we signed Devon Lloyd for and THAT was an ELITE rookie contract LB.
-
So a really talented raw OT, taken at a time when we signed a starter to a prove it deal, an aging veteran on one side, ande an injured and inconsistent guy finishing his rookie contract on the other. Sit and learn young man, great pick. We always seem to have a bajillion Oline injuries every year so might as well have good depth.

SOURCE: Panthers #1 target is KC Conception
Carolina Cajun replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would not surprise me. Im not buying the Dillon Thienlien hype, Morgan tends to draft players hes vetted with the interview process, I THINK (could be wrong) that the only one hes drafted without predraft visit is Nic Scourton. I think the Thienlien stuff is a smokescreen and would not be surprised if its all been a smokescreen. That said, I think KC Conception could be the goal. I think XL's days are getting shorter. -
Why are we mad? I just dont get it, who cares. Its a camp body, he showed a little something in preseason, might have progressed over the last few years, that said, its not stopping us from getting a qb late in the draft. I just dont get the outrage.

This Video was Eye Opening To me

Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal. I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought. I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything. -

Honestly, the guy does a TON of good research. His videos are always high quality and his insight is always stellar. This video however changed my mind...dramatically about the draft. Anyone who's seen my opinions knows Im a all in BPA guy, HOWEVER, this kind of changed my mind...Im now a BPA...at position of value dictated by the board. A lot of words to say, weighted average is important. We all all know that having a good qb on a rookie contract is important, but what about a good edge...or reciever...or tackle? THOSE things make a different and this opened my eyes to that. With that said, not that I think we SHOULD go receiver in the first, HOWEVER, IT DOES MAKE SENSE. If you have good young recievers coming in on rookie contracts, then you have more to build the rest of the roster at a lower cost. If we were a team loaded at Receiver then things would be different, however, we only truly have 2 reliable WRs, so would another Receiver be a bad pick...I actually dont think so now based on value going forward. Its just something to consider for everyone.

Biggest bust for every draft since 2000.

Amazing football channel. I legit watch every video he does, its always good and hilarious content. His "new worst game" reaction to the 70-20 loss by his broncos to the miami dolphins will always be one of the best....His curse wheel nearly lead us to victory against the rams in the playoffs. -
Perfect, get the replacement refs in here, use this system and get the rigged bozos out of here. This should be standard practice anyway.
