Panthers Trade for Jared Allen

Recommended Posts

On topic: Jared Allen hasn't done anything in years. He doesn't make us a Super Bowl contender, he hopefully has enough in the tank left until CJ can get come back healthy.

he had 11.5 sacks in 2013

Solid move for a player who only 2 years ago had double digit sacks. Once CJ comes back Ealy will see very little playing time. Too many stupid penalties.

Are you just trying to look stupid. Up until last year Allen was a perennial double digit sack specialist.

He's 33 though. He'll be good here, my point is: Don't expect to be getting the Jared Allen of 2009. Better than what we have and so it's a good and necessary trade though.

Gettleman is awesome!

In honor of the greatest GM I will wear nipple shorts for Halloween.

And in honor of Jared Allen I'll finally be able to rock that mullet I've always wanted!

See Patrick Kane playoff mullet for a solid example!

Guys Allen's age can experience drop-off quickly if they're not QBs or kickers though. We'll see, again, I like the trade.

Gettlemen is one slick mofo!  All Hale the Don!  I shall hike up my pants in tribute to the penny pinching, pokerfaced, no giving a fug about receivers, giant cooking eating bastard that he is.

WTF are you talking about 2009 for? Allen had a very productive 2013 and if it wasn't for losing weight last year he may have had a productive 2014. I'm not writing this guy off by any means, dude has one hell of a motor!

This also underlines the slow progress Kony Ealy has seen and has been largely invisible this season, other than penalties.

Actually, it underscores what Rivera wants to do with Ealy which is to move him inside.
