Carolina Panthers plan to build team HQ, practice facility in SC

The owners should be paying for their facilities and stadiums anyway. SC is more of a football state than NC which is basketball country. Williams-Brice stadium in Columbia seats more people than BOA stadium. Even though SC is smaller there is quite a large following there and the Panthers probably wouldn't be where they are without the support of "the lesser Carolina".

Do you know how many seats that stadium in that little town of Ann Arbor, Michigan holds? College football is a completely different beast than the NFL.

I’m sure all those blue collar, mill and plant workers with GEDs can afford to visit BOA stadium.

My point is that I’d like to see little Carolina contribute fiscally to the team and organization.

I wouldn't worry about that.  SC and York County have a proven track record of attracting business from NC and beyond.

I’m a blue collar plant worker in Rock Hill and a PSL owner since 2003 with three seats in Section 323.   Why are you such a snob and where are your seats located?

Stop with the college comparisons.

I can get 2 season tickets to South Carolina games in Columbia for the same price as 2 seats/3 games in BOA at a comparable location in the stadium.

Can’t wait til they knock down the old BOA for more condos in uptown. /sarcasm

You say 'sarcasm' now.......

.....until you get caught in the 77 South traffic on a Sunday morning a couple years down the road.

hope all those 2nd class Carolina folks from up north don't come down here and trash up the best Carolina when visiting our new facility

and let's be real.  SC thanks to the past few years of behavior now gets to look down our noses at NC.  That is just a fact of life.  Sorry folks.  I'm sure we will reclaim our position to due time.  But for now, we shall enjoy our positioning and flaunt it.

I’ll be more interested to see what he does with all the vacated space at the current stadium.  Their’s a ton of stuff in the bottom level that will no longer be needed

It was reclaimed the moment HB2 was repealed. Well, it’ll be reclaimed when rampant gerrymandering ceases or is at least lessened.

Yep this is a sign.  Team is moving to SC.  They're not looking for an 80 acres site for just a practice facility.  This sounds like they're looking for a new site to build the new stadium when it's time.  Why would they extend the light rail to a practice facility? Develop shopping plazas around a private practice facility?

I suppose the other options could be training camp which would make more sense.  It's more likely to me that it's all the above.
