Grier won’t even win the 2nd string job over Allen. This is a guy who was a sure 1st round pick before the beginning of the season and played himself into comp pick status.

that was my thought...

Damn man you should send your resume to the Panthers. I'm sure they could use an expert like yourself.

Expert... hardly. I just have half a brain cell like most people that have ever watched a football game before that know you should draft BPA among areas of need, not sub-par players in an area of strength

Best analogy Ive heard in a while!

We don’t deserve cam. I can just see that old white woman on twitter saying we should draft a qb with our first pick smiling right now.

The best backup possible and the worst backup possible will still result in the same outcome.... little to no wins

If Cam's health is done, then you start prepping for a top 5 pick and get a QB then

And just tell the other 60 guys on the team we're giving up on this season?

It's probably Greg Olsen's last season. You want to tell him we're just going to waste it?

A year off the rookie contracts of guys like McCaffrey and Moore? Think they'll sign a year extension to make up for it?

How about the guys in contract years? Wanna let them know you're just going to waste this season and hope they understand and re-sign with us for less money?

Oh, and what about guys who get hurt while you're tanking? What do you say to them?

No.

You never ever give up on a season because one guy is hurt, even if it's your starting quarterback.

And seriously, you guys think that I head coach who wasn't even willing to tank a final meaningless game for seven draft spots is gonna let go of a whole season? Ron and Marty don't have that kind of job security.

There is probably no silly or notion on this board then the idea that the team could willingly tank a season.

Why is every that QB that Hurney falls in love with, aside from Cam, lacks arm strength?

Its Rivera.

Ron "I'd have taken a shot too" Rivera chews up and spits out QBs and doesn't give a FUGGER'S HELL about their health.

He needed someone to replace Cam when he finishes the job of ruining Cam Newton.

Safety?  What's a safety?  (Quoting Moron Rivera.)

Not a Thompson fan at all.  That being said if we do get a safety, that would be the one the team selects.  Why?  Apparently they hate me.

Would have preferred most anyone else that's already been picked, but at this point, are there any other safeties even worth considering? Getting down to slim pickings in the 4th. Not sure he's much of an upgrade over Gaulden but the potential is there at least.

Pretty sure giving up is what the Panthers did very well last season...

And no, what I was saying is that having Grier, Allen, Heinecke, or anyone else will make little to no difference if Cam went down, because none of those guys are going to win us games

Back up QB has been a huge area of need since DA's last season when we all knew he was done.

We drafted a 3rd round safety last year. Sorry he wasn't a guy you liked. The free agent market for safetiesstill has some pretty good players who will come cheap and potentially beat out any 3rd round safety we would have taken this year.

I saw a great analogy in Twitter. You own a home with a great roof, but the bathroom needs a remodel and you need new carpet in the bedroom...let’s buy a new roof.

Does your roof have a questionable shoulder?

man the Panthers have gone really predictable, every pick we have been tied to has been right on the money...it kinda sucks

Golly, I wonder if the Panther's pretty much telling the whole world exactly what they wanted contributed to the laugh-track of the rest of the NFL when Rivera/Hurney made a draft pick or trade?

You still have to try.

Forgot about Hooker. Probably take him over Thompson. Between those three and Wrenn, gotta figure at least one will be there at our pick.

Is that why almost every major sports outlet has been praising us for how great our draft has been so far?

The roof had a leak but the rough shingles got replaced and will be good to go, this rough was top of the line, when in tact it’s what you’d call an MVP roof. I see what you are saying, but we could get a qb tomrw to be a quality backup.
