There would be no point of having divisions. Every team's goal is to win their division. That's the point of the regular season. The wild card teams are gifted another chance. Tough luck, but it is what makes the NFL interesting.
Unless you want to make it like the NBA?
Life ain't fair, but the playoffs are fine the way they are.
Now realigning the divisions... that would be a good thing.
Add in eight more teams and have five per division. Things get much more interesting.
And screw the NBA playoffs... basically everyone gets to play and they take six months.
Not asking for that. Divisions stay the Same... Top 6 records go to the postseason... If 4 teams in division are worse then the 6th best team, sorry, your division sucked and you still couldn't be the 6th best team...
I am willing to settle for seeding based on record= 12-4 wild card hosts 9-7 division winner... It's almost 2020, time to quit Grandpas rule and act like this is a professional sports league trying to crown a LEGIT champion. Why is a 12-4 team at a disadvantage and a 9-7 one isn't can't justify it.... MLB gets away with it, but you will get at least 2-4 home games a series anyway...
