It's impossible to say if any QB in the draft would be a sure fire franchise QB. The draft isn't about sure fire anything. I do want to take a chance and keep taking chances until we have a franchise QB. Missing on a QB is not going to derail our upcoming SB run, we don't have a SB season on the horizon. We're going to be dismantled next season due to our talent level having dipped well below the "fix it with this draft" type solution. I don't think we can use this draft to create a winning team now. We can however take a chance on a QB at #7. If we hit on the pick, then we have our franchise QB. If we miss on the pick, then we won't have that DT or CB who could also be a bust. I am more than willing to miss out on some DT to have a chance at our future franchise QB.
I was horrified when Gettleman picked Vernon Butler, Shaq, and other defensive players rather than drafting top offensive linemen. I am a big fan of building a brick wall o-line to protect the QB. I can't stand picking defensive players when we don't have a franchise QB, and our o-line is poop. I hate it. Get a franchise QB, o-line, then you can look at other positions.
The Huddle is all about collecting DTs. They LOVE it. Kinlaw? They love him. He looks ordinary, but they want him. If he doesn't do much they will blame Hurney for picking him. The Huddle is DT crazy. We have to have a franchise QB. No waiting season after season coming up with excuses why QB X is not good enough.
