How do tickets work this year?

Recommended Posts

My understanding is that paper tickets are done. I have a season ticket relative who usually sent tickets via mail. He lives pretty far away from Charlotte. What will he have to do?  He is elderly, and still has a flip phone and likely has Windows 95 on a desktop still...

Your relative can still get the actual tickets; however, he will potentially be charged a fee stated to be $50 but likely negotiable.

What a load of BS that is.

He can transfer the tickets to you but He'll have to sign in to his Panthers account on is 2004 desktop computer to do it.  Hopefully Internet Explorer 4 will still render the panthers website correctly.

Once he is on there, he can "Transfer" the tickets to you via email.

You'll get an email and in order to 'accept' the tickets you will need to also have a Panther account - for you it may be easier to download the panthers app on your smart phone.

Once you have the tickets on your phone you are golden.  You can transfer them (sell) them as well.   Panthers recommend that you put them in your wallet because you can't screen shot them to get into the games anymore.  You'll either need them in your wallet or you'll have to have an active connection to the panthers app when you walk in the stadium.

The Apple wallet works seemlessly (See ticket, click on "add to apple wallet") but I haven't figured out how to get google pay (Android version of Apple wallet, supposedly) to store the tickets.

If anyone has figured out the Android wallet thing and will post a tutorial, much respect will be given.

Totally sucks...what if you want to buy tickets outside the stadium

I think you'll still be able to, there just won't be an exchange of paper tickets.  If you are so inclined I would recommend setting up a Panthers account under a newly created GMAIL account for just that purpose - because I doubt you want to be giving a scalper your main email address.

ie .... You talk to scalper and agree on price.  You show scalper the money and he emails you the link to claim the tickets - to your newly created email account.  You go on the Panthers app and verify the tickets are there and then you pay the man.

Actually will reduce the risk of getting scammed if it's as secure as ticketmaster says it is.

This should be interesting to watch play out!

Update on what I've heard from last night's game and the entry issues people had...I did not attend last nights pre-season game but normally I do as I have season tickets. I used the digital tickets a lot last year when they were optional and did not have any problems. I've spoken to several friends that went to the game last night and they said the ticket scanning system is a nightmare. People fumbling with phones, constantly trying to keep their screens bright or on, ticket scanners not working, etc.. Apparently there are two ways to scan the tickets. You can show the barcode on the panthers/ticketmaster app and have the displayed barcode scanned or you can put them in your Apple Wallet and then hold the phone near the device and it will read the ticket. A couple of my friends said the scanners did not even work more than half of the time. This sounds like a complete pain. They said the ticket scanning lines were backed all the way up to the security checkpoints! Not cool at all.

Waiting for everyone to scan phone a gate is gonna cause a bottle neck at entrances. It will get ugly on those hot September game days

The yellow coats are clueless

the only thing they know how to do is telling people to sit down and stop cheering

I can attest to this. Luckily I got there early and into the stadium without any trouble but i went to get a beer after the first quarter and there was a huge bottleneck still at the gate because the scanners werent working

I pulled the tickets up on my phone as I walked from the security chk to the turnstile.   The guy's ticket scanner wouldn't work or I guess recognize the barcode. He kept trying multiple times and finally got it to work.  Swiped the phone to get to next ticket and it worked first time.  We told him he was going to have a long night if the ticket scanner did that for every person.  I  wondered afterwards if I needed to increase the brightness on my phone but then it read the second barcode immediately. We usually enter the stadium around 1 hour before game time.  Can't imagine what it will be like waiting til 30 minutes or less to enter.  Add in the people that still don't know about the bag policy that hold up the bag chk line that I go through every game with my clear bag.

Hopefully they are getting feedback somehow from the people scanning tickets.

    • Employer dependent medical insurance ties employees to their employers. Private for profit insurance is costly for startups, small businesses and the self employed.  Medicare for All allows workers to change jobs without fear of having gaps in insurance coverage.  Lose your job, lose your employer's insurance.  Again, no worries with the M4A system.  M4A has no co-pay or chance of being cancelled due to long term illness either. Medicare is the most cost effective means of delivering healthcare coverage in the nation and has been for over 50 years. Medicare covers elderly and disabled Americans, demographics that typically require some of the most costly medical care. Medicare isn't a "crapshoot" it has a long history of success in this nation of delivering healthcare for less cost. Bottom line:  Only one industrialized nation doesn't have some version of universal single payer healthcare and that is the USA.  Suggesting the USA is incapable of doing what all these other nations have been doing for generations is insulting.  The USA currently spends more per capita than any other nation on earth for healthcare while achieving the 37th best outcomes. The current system is broken and inordinately expensive, creating a financial drain on families, businesses and our nation's economy while simultaneously failing to provide coverage for tens of millions of Americans.  It is long past time to address this elephant in the room. https://morningconsult.com/2019/07/02/majority-backs-medicare-for-all-replacing-private-plans-if-preferred-providers-stay/
    • While I agree it is a huge loss for them regarding the perspective of the rest of the season, Mack wasn’t going to do dick against our tackles anyway. Our backup TE stonewalled him a couple of times. That’s the 2nd time we’ve played him and Armstead and Strief/Ramczyk has put him on a milk carton. The only teams he can feast on are teams with trash offensive lines or dumb coaches that can’t scheme to neutralize him.
    • Indeed, the Bears are in a VERY tight spot with Trubisky who’s looking like a massive Trubust, especially with what they gave up to get him AND what was on the board when they picked. There was one pass that Bridgewater tried that I did NOT like and was one I was terrified he’d try in a close game that would result in a boneheaded turnover. I don’t remember exactly when it was, but it was about a 20 yard pass to the end zone that he tried to fit between two Bears defenders and I groaned when I saw where it was going thinking it was an easy pick but thankfully it was dropped. And I agree, Brees definitely would’ve carved up that defense. At least 4 sacks in each game or total in both games? And Khalil Mack definitely does have a supporting cast like y’all considering they were a top-5 defense before today. WERE. And LMAO, what?! Um no. Absolutely not, I would not rather Poe or McCoy next to Jordan. That’s just a straight up homer comment right there, LOLOL. Why would we need McCoy or Poe? We’re not trying to get AARP memberships. Our defense is giving up fewer points/game, fewer yards/game, lower 3rd down conversion %, and a lower 4th down conversion %.  And that’s without even getting into the contracts. Here’s what y’all are paying McCoy and Poe... McCoy (31 years old) - $7.9M Poe (29 years old) - $9.3M Now here’s what we’re paying our starting tackles... Rankins (25 years old) - $4.07M Brown (25 years old) - $2.5M Y’all MASSIVELY overpaid for Poe, so bad that y’all likely going to cut him in the off season if he doesn’t take a pay cut or restructure his deal because there’s no way in hell y’all pay a 30 year old NT $13.3M next year. McCoy isn’t even under contract for next year and even if he is re-signed, both of y’all starting DT’s will be on the wrong side of 30 and grossly overpaid due to their names alone. Meanwhile, Rankins will be on his 5th year option (and more than likely extended) while Brown enters the 2nd year of his 3-year deal he signed in March and combined they’ll be making SLIGHTLY over what y’all have just Poe counting for next year (~$13.7M combined, $7.7M for Rankins’ option and $6M for Brown).  Y’all better get drafting and replenish with some cheap talent. LMAO, are you seriously clinging onto that Week 17 game last year that we had zero interest in? We had the #1 seed locked up already and had NOTHING to gain from that game. Getting out of that game without any injuries in preparation for the playoffs was the ONLY thought our mind and we accomplished that. Enjoy your token win, I bet it looks real nice next to the other two morale wins we gave y’all in 2006 and 2009 when we sat and rested our starters then too. Hahahaha.
