Philip Rivers now a Free Agent

Recommended Posts

I mean, he makes no sense in Carolina.

Could see a team like Indy taking a shot at him.  Pretty solid roster that could use a vet QB to make a run.   But if Rivers couldn't get it done in SD he really isn't going to be the missing key for anyone.  SD had very nice talent around Rivers

He's an INT machine. If a team needs a QB bad enough to where they are willing to accept that then they might as well bring in Winston who is younger. Rivers needs to call it a career.

He's not coming here. The only relevance this has for the Panthers is that the Chargers now need a QB.

Someone will slam me for this, but I've just never thought the guy was as good as the press around him. Like Carson Palmer, everything was about how good he was, what a great passer, master of the game... but just never could push a team into real contention.

Rivers was legit good. He was surrounded by some amazing talents on offense and even defense. Too bad, the same guys that ruined Cam and this franchise are the same ones that could never get Rivers to the SB: Norv Turner and Ron Rivera.

That team you’re talking about who needs a QB bad enough is Carolina.

dude got like 18 kids.  if he can get a paycheck that man going to get a paycheck.  He probably ain't like Eli.  Rivers might just go collect that sweet vet backup QB money.   Any young pocket passers need a vet to help them learn what horrific throwing mechanics are?

Speculation is the Colts make more sense than the Panthers.

Also of note...

Not a great year to be looking for a starting job if you're a free agent. It's definitely a buyer's market.

Let the rumor mill churn...

Not really much of a rumor to get started, the Panthers would be going backwards if they brought him in.

Whoever signs him is stepping right into a Denver-Flacco situation.
