2021 Comp pick formula has changed.

I wish they would release DeValve's contract numbers and Bruce Irvin's too.  We can get back 1-2 more comp picks if the numbers fall the right way (and Hurney stops signing folks).  I can't  imagine DeValve's contract is much more than the veteran minimum.  Irvin is the wildcard.  Did he get more than $2.5 million per year?  I wouldn't think so, but did the Seachickens?

If I am correct DeValve only got $720k last year. He will be below that threshold.
what I am interested in is Irvin’s salary.

The biggest headscratcher is Robert's contract.  Hurney gave him a significant pay raise making a qualifying free agent. Made less than 2 mil. last year.

This thread was such a great example as to why we should just sit back and let this offseason fully unfold before we complain about anything. Clearly there’s a plan in place. We all jump to conclusions simply because we aren’t informed

You have clearly not been on the huddle very long.  Naked Gun Panic GIF

Especially as our WR4 right before a fantastic WR draft. There’s a reason why Roberts signed as fast as he could. Honestly, if Marty knew he’d get Anderson, would he have signed Roberts. Probably not.

I'm not concerned with WR.  I've stated this before, with the spread offense so prevalent now, having a shortage of WRs in the draft is not an issue.  Sure some classes will be more talented than others, but I can assure you we can get a top-notch WR next draft in the first round or day 2 next year.

It’s not about getting them in the first round next year. The point is that this is a ridiculously talented WR class. Why spend a top 15-20 pick on a WR you can get at 38 this year? There are 3 things that are Hurney’s main weakness. He doesn’t draft BPA or consider drafting towards the strength of the draft, hence he doesn’t come away with more value in the same number of picks. See lining up FA WRs this year or going tackle last year instead of interior OL. He has favorites and he is not willing to lose them so again he overdrafts and reaches and when he’s wrong (way too often after round 1) the misses are even worse. See also weakness number 1 where his favorites aren’t the strengths of the draft doubling down on a bad tackle in Little instead of two studs at G and C. He also doesn’t have a clue about comp picks. We are in a pure rebuild and we are blowing through 3rd and 4th round comp picks. See weakness 2, having comp picks would allow for some reaches that wouldn’t kill the draft and having ammo to alleviate weakness one by having more BPA shots. Look at last year. I’d say we had another comp pick in the 4th (just hypothetically) maybe we take a Crosby at 100, Grier at 115 and Miller at the end of the 4th. Marty doesn’t have an extra bullet so he overdrafts Grier because he has to get him.

We just need a good GM. I have a sinking feeling that we will ignore WR in this draft and in a year or two after losing Anderson and Samuel that we will have a gigantic hole yet again but with back to back 7-9 seasons we’ll have to keep Teddy for year 3 as we have no future QB in house.

I believe Irvin got 9.5 million, sportac and over-the-cap normally get them. I forgot the guy whos on top of NFL contracts, I know his face. He gets all the lower level guy contract details. I believe he use to report about the Ravens and now does the Texans. He still reports on lots of NFL. found him- https://twitter.com/aaronwilson_nfl?lang=en
