The whole Keegan Michael Key thing is being over blown. It was a 2 minute zoom call. Rico's celebration etc. was like a half an hour distraction. A little bit of levity every now and then isn't the end of the world. I'm not even that mad at the Victory Monday. They won a tough game on the road and Rico and the oline were getting banged up pretty good. However, if there was a lackadaisical lack of preparation, that's on DC for not getting on that ass. Also, I cringe whenever I hear "leadership council." This is the NFL, not camp Wakanda.

If .500 is "real good" you should be content with Canales.

Since when is coaches not being 100% forthright and not telling the media how much their players suck in pressers a novelty?
-
I've said it before and I stand behind it. If Clausen was given three years he might could have put together a couple of 150 yard games lol
-
Yeah, probably. However, he was drafted as a project. Next year, if we have can acquire serviceable QB play, we'll get our definitive answer.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

His teammates seem to love him. That’s a great thing. -
I mean, do we even really need WRs at this point? Let’s do some 4 TE sets. Great for run blocking and checkdowns.

Yeah it's already a blunder. Do you really think Tep and Co. think so? I hope so, but I'm not as confident in the powers that be's decision making. -

Yep. He and Fitts beat the drum on "QB on a rookie contract is the key to success" so hard that not picking up his option is an outright admission of a huge blunder. -
Winning isn't enough for Panther fans.

I'm happy for the wins, and I'm always pulling for Bryce. However, I've seen this movie before. Damn near two decades of it, actually. RonFox-ball gets you around .500. period. always. Yeah you'll catch fire and have a playoff run every now and then if you draft a few world beaters like Cam, Luke, Smitty etc. (never for two consecutive seasons, mind you.) We're playing that way because we have to. -
Who knows. Maybe ha can be our Sam Darnold story. (disregarding our actual handling of the actual Sam Darnold)

Not a great comparison IMO
-
Yeah, I just don't know if anyone has seen enough of anything from him. Pandemic shortened college career, injury setbacks early on etc.

So we should just keep the QB room as is? Ok. Mods delete this or change it to another Bryce thread, please.

A roll with Bryce and Dalton again guy, I presume. Good plan.

Some time with Harbaugh seems to have him looking promising. Yay? Nay? Why or why not? How do you think he would fit Canales' offence?

All he did was win. If you can't see that, you don't know ball, you casual fan. -

Yeah, I don't watch college ball, so predraft with some people making Brees comparisons, I just assumed with his size he probably had pinpoint accuracy. Boy Howdy, "startling" is a great word to describe watching his rookie season. -
QB 2026 (For the Young Haters)
Khaki Lackey replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, I'm sure our FO brain trust is going to keep Bryce around. They have too much invested to outright admit failure. But a competent vet backup, or draft pick, will probably have opportunities to take over the starting job in the next two seasons. -

Hopefully he will be slightly better ass on another team -

This is the way. Especially if they insist on keeping Bryce. If they don't keep Bryce, Lance, and older vet, and maybe a higher draft pick can compete. I really think we are a QB away from being able to rise above .500 RonFox-ball offensively. -
No, damn near everyone here knows Bryce ain’t it. The roster is what it is, and today’s game plan is the only way this team is capable of winning. I can’t blame Canales for trying to win games. QB will be addressed next year. Even if they are foolish enough to keep Bryce, he’s going to have a vet and/or a draft pick breathing down his neck.
