I think this year was; Bryce succeeds or a natural tank followed by a flush.

Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening
Khaki Lackey replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree. Our QB room is like it is by design. A really bad design, but intentional nonetheless. If Bryce's play last year earned him this year, and he needed the corpse of the red-rocket as his safety blanket, I'm kind of glad we didn't waste any more cap or draft capital on QB. -

There's no real thing as a QB competition anymore. Hell, the one thing Rhule did right was trying to make Sam or Baker earn the #1 spot but all it did was dilute practice reps with the ones and caused excuses for failure. -
lol he did sound half lit. A drunk tongue speaks a sober mind

Schlereth sounds kind of smarmy for someone telling how great Bryce was for two years

We're just setting up the league to open things up downfield. Don't worry, once opposing teams overload the box, out of desperation, BY9 will start throwing downfield again. Mind you, it takes Canales at least two games to make an adjustment, but when he does, Bryce will earn himself that extension.

I mean, he's been pretty quiet since the draft, but it's not like the past history doesn't indicate the potential.

Not everyone wants the circus. Coaches and most owners just don't want that much noise to constantly address. You know how Bryce fans will be blaming the team for his failures even after he's out of the league? The Sanders show has potential to be much worse. Deion has a much louder megaphone than Bryce's dad.

The whole Keegan Michael Key thing is being over blown. It was a 2 minute zoom call. Rico's celebration etc. was like a half an hour distraction. A little bit of levity every now and then isn't the end of the world. I'm not even that mad at the Victory Monday. They won a tough game on the road and Rico and the oline were getting banged up pretty good. However, if there was a lackadaisical lack of preparation, that's on DC for not getting on that ass. Also, I cringe whenever I hear "leadership council." This is the NFL, not camp Wakanda.

If .500 is "real good" you should be content with Canales.

Since when is coaches not being 100% forthright and not telling the media how much their players suck in pressers a novelty?
-
I've said it before and I stand behind it. If Clausen was given three years he might could have put together a couple of 150 yard games lol
-
Yeah, probably. However, he was drafted as a project. Next year, if we have can acquire serviceable QB play, we'll get our definitive answer.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
Khaki Lackey replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
His teammates seem to love him. That’s a great thing. -
I mean, do we even really need WRs at this point? Let’s do some 4 TE sets. Great for run blocking and checkdowns.

Yeah it's already a blunder. Do you really think Tep and Co. think so? I hope so, but I'm not as confident in the powers that be's decision making. -

Yep. He and Fitts beat the drum on "QB on a rookie contract is the key to success" so hard that not picking up his option is an outright admission of a huge blunder. -
Winning isn't enough for Panther fans.
Khaki Lackey replied to KaseKlosed's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm happy for the wins, and I'm always pulling for Bryce. However, I've seen this movie before. Damn near two decades of it, actually. RonFox-ball gets you around .500. period. always. Yeah you'll catch fire and have a playoff run every now and then if you draft a few world beaters like Cam, Luke, Smitty etc. (never for two consecutive seasons, mind you.) We're playing that way because we have to. -
Who knows. Maybe ha can be our Sam Darnold story. (disregarding our actual handling of the actual Sam Darnold)
-
Not a great comparison IMO
-
Yeah, I just don't know if anyone has seen enough of anything from him. Pandemic shortened college career, injury setbacks early on etc.

So we should just keep the QB room as is? Ok. Mods delete this or change it to another Bryce thread, please.

A roll with Bryce and Dalton again guy, I presume. Good plan.
