QB 2026 (For the Young Haters)
Khaki Lackey replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, I'm sure our FO brain trust is going to keep Bryce around. They have too much invested to outright admit failure. But a competent vet backup, or draft pick, will probably have opportunities to take over the starting job in the next two seasons. -

Hopefully he will be slightly better ass on another team -
QB 2026 (For the Young Haters)

This is the way. Especially if they insist on keeping Bryce. If they don't keep Bryce, Lance, and older vet, and maybe a higher draft pick can compete. I really think we are a QB away from being able to rise above .500 RonFox-ball offensively. -
No, damn near everyone here knows Bryce ain’t it. The roster is what it is, and today’s game plan is the only way this team is capable of winning. I can’t blame Canales for trying to win games. QB will be addressed next year. Even if they are foolish enough to keep Bryce, he’s going to have a vet and/or a draft pick breathing down his neck.

Darnold looks so great until he doesn’t. I wonder how he’d look in Canales’ O.

I think now that you’ve posted this for the millionth time it’s finally going to work. Dan’s going to give up future assets to get Jameis in here so we can lose games and Tet might get enough yards to get into the OROY conversation. Canales is going to resign because winning this way, given the roster, is to the long term detriment to the team. and yes, I called him Tet. Tet McMillan. Tetty Tet Tet Tet.

How bold do we want his play calling given the QB situation?
-
Double post. Balls.

It would have been worth a one point loss to have a Key and Peele sketch become reality right in front of our eyes, but im glad it didn’t. I still don’t get the flag. It was obviously only two pumps.

Where would we be right now with a real franchise QB?

Prime Cam with legit tackles and promising WRs? Unstoppable for real -
Yeah that’s one of the many problems with Bryce. Even if he finishes the rest of the season looking like an all pro, I can’t trust that he’ll stay that way at this point.

Kaye: Panthers not likely to be "sellers" at trade deadline
Khaki Lackey replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, we don't have a lot worth selling so there's that. -
Sorry my joke was unclear. I was saying I didn’t want to go the distressed asset route because we already have one on the roster. (Bryce)
-
I was advocating an older vet seeing as we already have a distressed asset as our QB1.

Panthers Sign QB White to roster; Christensen on IR
Khaki Lackey replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pretty sure it was just a joke about his and Bryce's last names. -
Distressed asset? "Sometimes the answer is already on the roster."
-
I say bring Lance in. We have an OL, decent weapons and, by god, a QB whisperer as a HC. (obviously joking about that last part) Plus, we're statistically due to have a reclamation project work.
-
Come on, man. He's a professional athlete. Those rocks were at least 20lbs.
-
Even if they do sign Bryce’s option (which they shouldn’t but probably will) They need to sign a vet and draft a mid round QB and let all three compete for the QB1 spot

Not Necessarily Panthers Related but....
Khaki Lackey replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not necessarily. QB’s looking like busts in garbage organizations and looking decent in well run organizations is becoming way more common that it used to be -
Bryce Young a full participant at practice today

We're saved. He's back. I heard he slung around a few crow-hopped 17 yard bombs- 81 replies
