BREAKING: Panthers signing a new QB

And what does that tell us, chat fam? No cap. -

The Dolphins have far more issues than just Tua. I don’t think that Tua is a great NFL QB but his numbers when he’s playing well are unmistakable. Something is wrong with that program. -

Realistically, he’s become very good at Redzone passing. His ability to buy time, and his threat to potentially pull and run on an RPO, makes the Redzone full 11 on 11. He’s so small that I think the defense has a hard time seeing where he has escaped to. If he could somehow develop a deep ball I think Bryce could be a good enough QB, given we have a defensive minded program that runs the ball well, all of the time, to get to a Super Bowl. that said, I will be very interested to see what the offense looks like with Dalton. I want to see if Bryce has been holding the group back or not. There is no doubt that Dalton is a better pure passer of the football, but at four wins, I don’t see the ability to draft a replacement for Bryce. I’ll go on the record as saying that I’d like Tyson Bagent from the Bears to compete for a starting job in 2026. He’s got all of the attributes that would absolutely flourish in this scheme. I actually believe that if Caleb Williams wasn’t a first overall pick, and Ben Johnson wasn’t hired specifically for him, that they would start Bagent. -

Bryce is just as capable as Brees in terms of arm strength. -

Maybe you’re not remembering Brees correctly, but yes, Bryce can throw with the same velocity as Brees. -

I wonder if the lack of continuity between games is because the last two were at home and the Jets defense improving? The running game was unstoppable and I have not seen many of those tosses with pulling guards and the center that we saw all last week that Rico had to have averaged 8 yards on. Bryce read my post. -

We need Bryce to play up to his draft status at some point. He could definitely become Brees like but man, he has got to hit those plays that are easy enough to hit. He should be at 68% to 74% completion. -
I think they want Burden to take his spot. I’d take DJ back. DJ, Tet, Holy Cross, and XL could be a solid core (corp)

That’s fine. But 30-0 isn’t just an “off game” by the Falcants. That was a beat down through and through. The Panthers also just held one of the leagues best rushing offenses to what, 40 yards? Stopping the run is how you win playoff games, period. I like what I’ve seen, and Bryce is getting his clutch gene back.
-
Dude, we beat the Falcons 30-0, held the Cowboys to less points than Green Bay did, and held the Dolphins to well enough to go on a 27-3 run, or 27-6 run. We also went on a run against the Cardinals. The defense is going to depend on the development of a pass rush from Princely and Nic. Both have the ability

Princely will figure it out by Week 10 I think. Once he starts playing fast and trusting his eyes, it’s game over man, game over.

Look at who they’ve played

Nah. It’s just not good unless the defense can hold up. I want to bet player props but the best I can think of is Bryce to throw 45 times with 200 yards passing, 1 touchdown, 1 int, 1 fumble, and for Dak to have around 220 yards passing with 1 touchdown, but Williams to have three touchdowns. I don’t really know what to think but that’s my home run prop bet parlay for this game.

My comments go back to what I would have done in 2023. That is really when everything veered off of what I thought was good and well. I wanted to keep Wilks, re-sign Darnold and Foreman, and trade down in the draft to take Torrance, Kincaid, Charbonnet, or Mims obviously depending on where they fell. Knowing what was coming the next draft class, that was the prudent thing to do. I’d still take Warren over Tet, or even Matthew Golden over Tet. Bryce needs guys who get open because right now, no one on this roster creates separation forcing Bryce to be a pinpoint passer which is insane because he’s 5’9. Give me receiving options that create space. they called him a Mini-Mahomes yet have done nothing similar to what the Chiefs have done to capitalize on those “traits”. It’s absurd. Give me a tight end who can back yard ball, a slasher at running back, a power back, and two 4.3 receivers with exceptional route running. That’s how you build around what Bryce has done well.
-
We should have traded down, taken Torrance, taken Charbonnet and Mims. Then gone defense. Re-signed Foreman and Darnold. If we sucked again, then you get a shot at Daniels, Maye, Williams, or Nix. You get to keep DJ Moore and stack a core of talent.

What is it that Cam is supposed to do differently? He is a running back. Dart will learn to slide, and eventually he won’t be playing with PS elevation receivers so he won’t have to run nearly as much.
-
Brooks wasn’t better in college than Cam was. Cam literally destroyed everyone they played, including making Texas look like a team of high schoolers.
-
I know plenty of people who were okay with Cam either way.
-
I said in the lead up to the draft that I’d take Cam in the 3rd or the 4th. Cam was a man amongst boys against Texas and in every other game I watched at Arizona State. I wanted to pair him up with Chubba and run the ball 35 times a game. so here would have been my choices: Tyler Warren, Nic Scourton, Cam Skattebo, DE, LB, WR Turns out that Warren is pretty darn good, Skattebo is going to have 15 touchdowns this year, and Scourton is going to be one of the best rookie defensive players in the league this season. I always thought taking Tet was a luxury pick because while receiver is important, Tet is a complementary piece to what Bryce does well, not the main course. A tight end like Warren and a back like Cam would have opened a whole new world up for both Dave and Bryce. But here we are. Apparently the Front Office doesn’t read my posts because if they did, we would be a very good football team right now.

Nic Scourton- PFF Highest Rated Rookie (Week 5)
CPcavedweller replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bro, Bryce was a Tepper pick. Specifically Nicole. Fitterer did what his boss wanted including moving mountains to get a QB because the ROI is typically high. Quality QB play gets you air time which sells jerseys, seats, etc. The problem is had he just sucked for one more year we end up with Daniels, Maye, or Williams and get to retain DJ Moore while actively building a core of talent sooner. Tepper, screwed that up. -
It's still a 4 man front even if the two edges don't have their hands down. Typically would be used in 3rd or 4th and long. Our new base is a 4-2-5. The third linebacker is like a Kam Chancellor type who can cover as a safety or come up and play in the box. Offers a lot of flexibility and destroys the outside passing and run game. Major reason we destroyed the Falcons and Dolphins yet were destroyed by the Patriots. It's a finesse scheme and it's going to struggle mightly against a traditional offense like the Patriots are running.
