  1. I get it perfectly. You have double standards. Man crush on Lance and hatred for Corral. Just freaking admit it. My reading comprehension is perfectly fine. It's your logic that makes no sense so no matter how much you flap your lips it's doesn't make sense. Not quite the monsoon you cry about. This is from the official game day weather. Notice they don't report any gusts. Game Weather: Cloudy, rain Temp: 69° F (20.6° C) Humidity: 87%, Wind: SW 16 mph if you can't throw in 16mph in the NFL you don't need to be playing. IT WASN'T a monsoon. Stop making excuses. The guy had more rushes than he had completed passes. He had twitchy feet and took off at the first hint of pressure. Yet, you have some mythical reasons why Corral can't be trusted. Why cause he looked terrible in a preseason game. Had little to no reps during the entire preseason. I believe he was given 5 minutes at the end of practice. If they are lucky he got 5 or 6 plays. You make no sense and your logic as to why you give Lance so much love yet throw a way a rookie based on nothing is beyond me.
  2. The pot calling the Kettle Black. You are part of the group that bashes Corral for a poor showing in a PRESEASON GAME with scrub linemen. Like I said. He was an understudy for an entire season. Reps all preseason with the starting lineup. He just doesn't have it. Save this conversation and I'll eat crow if he turns into something. I have more doubt about Lance than I do Corral.
  3. Here is my reason. Reich was successful with Wentz in Philly and bringing him to Indy was supposed to put them in the upper echelon of the league. That move failed. Bringing Ryan in was supposed to make them better than Wentz and they have struggled below .500. I just think we can do better if we are going to go offense let's get someone who runs a good offense like Philly, Buffalo or KC.
  4. Not sure what your love affair with Lance is but many see him as I do. Heading towards a big bust. I am down on a QB that was groomed for a year that looks absolutely worse than Corral did with a scrub offensive line in his 1st preseason game. Fields isn't showing much. His Bears are the same record as us. Nothing too impressive. My terrible takes are far more accurate than the Tank Crew and the Corral haters.
  5. Gotta love Frank Reich #14 Carolina's 1st QB. But that's it. Frank went to Indy and brought Wentz with him, Wentz Bombed. Then he brings Matty Ice, and he benches him and gets fired. Please for the love of God get off the retreads. We did it with QB, do we have to do it with HC? Hell, if that's the case, let's double dip. Former NFL and College HC Chip Kelly.
  6. I will have a much better opinion after this weekend. OSU/Michigan in an epic battle. Two 10-0 teams in one of college football's greatest rivalries. I'm pulling for OSU but want to see Michigan really put some pressure on Stroud. Stroud hangs in there and has a good game. It might shake the feeling I have that he is overrated. Go Buckeyes.
  7. Reading comprehension a little slow? What part of this don't you understand? The great class of 2021 is starting to look weak at best.
  8. Not No but Hell no He's shown me absolutely nothing. He runs at the first hint of pressure and is probably no better than PJ Walker. It also doesn't promote that selecting a first round QB is the obvious choice in the draft. Lawrence has been up and down. Fields isn't impressive Wilson seems to be trending down. Lance looking like a Bust. Jones barely a half a step ahead of 6th round Zappe.
  9. Good point, we'll see. IMO Snow wanted to go with Rhule, plus he and Wilks definitely had major conflict.
  10. I think Holcomb has done a pretty good job outside of the Cincinnati game. We limited a pretty good Baltimore offense to 3 points until we turned the ball over in our own territory. I wouldn't be upset if we retained him. At least we would have some continuity on the defensive side. This gives the new HC more time to focus on the offense.
  11. I agree but it is a double edge sword. If you lose a good DC than you are in the same boat. 60%-40% it's harder to find a good OC compared to a good DC. Maybe 51%-49%
  12. You just made the point for a defensive minded HC without agreeing to it. Quinn, a defensive minded HC, had a good OC when they went to the SB. Atlanta failed to follow up with another good OC. It's one or the other, it just depends on the owner. Tepper seems to want a young offensive minded head coach. Either way you are going to have to bring in a coordinator for your opposite skill set. Does the new HC try to keep Wilks as a DC or maybe just Holcomb? We assume he'll bring in a protégé for his OC. If we go offensive HC, IMO you keep, at minimum, Holcomb. The defense has played well considering our offense to be so anemic. I think it would be foolish to start all over on the defensive side as well as the offense. My biggest concern with a "young" head coach (offensive or defensive) is, can he lead the team. Can he get them to buy into his goals, can he motivate, can he be a leader and still get his offense into place? We don't want to get into the carousel that the Lions and Jets have been doing for years and years. Hiring and firing head coaches. I guess we'll see.
  13. Play anyone but Mayfield until we are guaranteed that our 4th round pick is safe. Than pick your poison. I wouldn't be surprised if Darnold does better than last year. He'll have much more time to throw the ball with our offensive line playing better.
  14. Not at all, you're the one that thinks that just because you draft a QB he's automatically going to take the helm. You and others are the ones that don't respect my opinion call me names. So please get off your high horse believing you're right. It's an opinion and like ass holes everyone has one. I have never contended that Corral will win the job over a draft choice. I've contended that he'll get a shot.
  15. Since when is a top 5 QB in the NFL the same as a top 5 pick? Being a top 5 pick does not make you a Top 5 QB in the NFL.
  16. To answer the Question. Trade down and get Richardson. Guys got a cannon. Stroud and the OSU label worry me. (BTW I am a huge OSU fan) Young impressed me in the one game I saw but I am terrified of his size. It's not because he can't play the position but when you have a beast LB baring down on your blind side he's going to get destroyed. He sprained his shoulder against Arkansas, and it wasn't a vicious hit. Wait until he gets drilled once or twice. Love the talent, hate the size.
  17. Fair enough on Russell but there a hundred of other top picks that just didn't pan out. Tanking for one doesn't automatically change your direction. It only shows your desperate. WRONG!!!! You guys just brush him off as an afterthought and ASS-U-ME that because he was a 3rd round QB that he can't or won't compete for the job. There isn't a Burrow or Herbert or even a Lawrence in this draft class that would win the job outright. My contention is and most likely accurate, Corral will compete for the position. If he doesn't beat the guy out, so be it, but he'll get an opportunity to compete. You guys think he has no chance, I don't agree. You tankers want a QB regardless of other needs and that only 1 or 2 are acceptable. Anything less is a road down to mediocrity. I say with this draft class if you have a better opportunity to go down that road anyhow.
  18. In fairness, I don't know if he is or isn't better but what I do know is that he'll compete for the starting job. I don't give a rats @SS if that QB is the #1 pick. He's not going to be given the keys without earning it. Anyone that believes that the head coach is going to give the rookie QB the starting job without working for it, is insane. To the chagrin of our Tanker counterparts that believe a drafted QB has the job and it's his to lose, they are wrong. He may be given every opportunity to win it, but Corral is going to be out there showing he is as good if not better. T
  19. Most will also agree several talking heads had him as the best QB in the draft and his stock dropped over some BS off the field statements. I have no issues with drafting a QB but I can guarantee you that Corral will be in the conversation with our prospective head coach. You love riding the injury and lower draft status as if it is your only justification. Many of Corral's traits transition to the NFL quite well. Especially decision making and quick release. He had, by far, the quickest release of any QB in recent drafts including this one. Here's the way I see it. Trade down and get a 1st this year and next. Pick a QB, whoever it may be with the lower pick. Let that QB and Corral compete. If they both bomb you have 2 first round picks to move up and get a Franchise QB like Maye. And you don't have to tank to do it.
  20. Jamarcus Russel won the national championship with LSU and is considered the biggest bust in NFL history. His college production was amazing. David Carr had an amazing college career and bombed out. Do I need to go on with how great of college production means in the NFL? Fields is 3-8 in his 2nd year. He loves to run, one day that is going to get him destroyed. How does that make him a better prospect. This is a consistent argument for the Tanker crew. They are blah blah blah better than anyone from last year. Alabama is having one of their worst seasons and most likely will miss the playoffs, I guess Young is the scapegoat. He gets all the praise when he wins, why not the losses.
  21. Weak argument, bro. I haven't seen one thing Stroud does great, alot of nice things and some bad things. Young, as I said earlier, his height worries me. I remember RGIII. Fortunately for the Redskins they drafted Cousins. Oh yeah, late in the same draft. Based on? Quick Release, accuracy, mobility, leadership? Or maybe it is just a freak accident with an O-Line that couldn't protect our children (on the field), as you proof they are better. The only thing you truly have is all these talking heads thinks he's ready. Oh that's right, Corral comes from a Pistol offense where he doesn't go under center. Stroud and Young are different because they are thoroughbreds for Alabama and OSU.
  22. So answer me this, why is it Fields gets all the excuses in the world as to why he's not lighting it up yet? However, 99% of the tankers disregard Corral as an afterthought? He's not allowed any leeway based on Rhule's handling of his development. Because he looked terrible in game one but better in game two of a preseason where he saw limited Reps. Why the double standard?
  23. So who you got? Stroud or Young? IMO Stroud is more system than talent. Young as much as I love his skills reminds me of RGIII. 1st time he doesn't slide he's gonna get lit up like a christmas tree and that will be that. Any other QB is not worthy of a high pick. If you insist on a QB in round 1, trade down and get Richardson or the newest old name Rattler later in round 1. There will be several good ones in round two. Though hurt Hooker will be there in round 2, Penix from Oregon, via Indiana. is another. All have talent to play in the NFL and all have the chance to bust. There are several I didn't name but are also interesting prospects. @Aussie Tank wants to just forget about Corral because he got injured in preseason and to date, I believe that was planned. Fun conspiracy theory. Most will agree he got a bum deal in preseason. Most agree that Rhule fugged the Panthers by not developing Corral. Most agree except those that want a QB in top of round 1. They want their shiny new toy even though they have one aleady.
  24. No one said we weren't drafting a QB. I just don't think so in the 1st round.
