  1. You beat me to it. I'd add that you shouldn't be drafting a QB just because he's a QB; you should be drafting a QB because you believe in him (or if on day 2 or 3, because you believe that you can help him to develop into a starter at some point). I'm not saying that it's the case this year, but sometimes there just isn't a guy in the draft that's going to fix your problem.
  2. Interesting! I don't necessarily believe in a hard correlation because everyone is different in different situations, but I can't argue that it's not compelling. I don't feel sure about looking at this history and chocking it up as simply random.
  3. They're kind of stuck though, the Giants don't really have a better alternative. Yeah, I guess they could do Tyrod Taylor for a year or two, but he's not really that exciting of an option. They may end up being in QB purgatory (if they really believe that Jones could be the guy)l.
  4. One guy was even integral in beating the GOATs to win one.
  5. I assure you that it will not. I realize that signing Carr is a possibility, and I will have to accept it if it happens. I will just question our use of resources if we pay him top dollar for more than a year or two. I also won't be expecting us to be legitimate contenders for a Lombardi anytime soon. As for ignoring, if all you're going to do is low-key insult me, then feel free. There are others that I can have actual discussions and disagreements with while mutually respecting one another without the insults.
  6. Oh, does Reich not like Carr? Thanks for informing me.
  7. Oh how very insulting. That's classic Scot when someone points out such a silly opinion, but no worries, you can get away with your insults Scot free.
  8. Reich wasn't asked about Stroud. Stroud is a draft prospect that we might not ever get, even if we want him. Furthermore, Reich isn't going to tip his hand about any draft prospect. On the other hand, Reich was asked about Carr, a longtime veteran free agent that's out there for the taking (so to speak) and was simply asked if we would bring him in, and was noncomittal about it. The situations are totally different. What a silly comparison.
  9. So, Murray isn't very good. Murray's and Carr's career passer rating are almost identical, and the rushing yards (especially considering their years in the league) aren't even close. If Murray isn't very good, then Carr isn't either, yet you act like an undercover Carr Stan. How ironic.
  10. Well, because you obviously prefer to discuss things on such a literal if not elementary, or even boring level perhaps you'll understand this: Reich has yet to say that the Panthers are bringing in Derek Carr. He had the opportunity to, but he said that he's got other priorities at the moment. All the discussion and excitement about Carr in regards to the Panthers' interest might even be considered premature.
  11. Some of us already know what the deal is, and that's fine. I can play your game nicely.
  12. The wise man knows how to discriminate between the shades of gray. But you obviously don't do that. Or, perhaps you do when it suits your narrative. I call that manipulation.
  13. You're right. I absolutely have to be smarter. Otherwise he'll get away Scot free with slickly talking down to people, as is customary, and I'll be banned.
  14. Yeah, there's no such thing as coach-speak. And human nature is a myth as well. I'm sure that you believe everything as literal that comes out of Reich's mouth--hell everyone's mouth. There's no meaning behind anything at anytime, huh? You take everything at face value, huh? The fact that Carr could be signed while we're still evaluating effectively means nothing. It's all just black and white. The world according to Scot.
  15. To you it doesn't. I've already heard a couple of people, including Chris Canty say otherwise.
  16. If he gets 45 mil per season, the Giants will be the only one to pay it. They could try the nonexclusive tag. As for Carr, I don't know; Jones is young and has already done something Carr never has: win a playoff game. Carr is also 1-9 in games where it's 45 degrees or lower at kickoff. I don't think that the Packers will trade A-Rod to an NFC team, or at least that's a prevailing notion.
  17. Both things can be right. Is that not allowed in Scot's world?
  18. I'd be surprised if it happens at this point, but it's still a possibility. https://athlonsports.com/nfl/panthers-coach-frank-reich-addresses-the-derek-carr-speculation I'm thinking that it's a thing where you strike while the iron is hot, but Reich is being noncommittal. I mean, you really can't argue with his reasoning, but I think that if Carr was valued more highly, then we'd be acting with a little more urgency.
  19. He gets above his breeches sometimes, and when he does it with me, I just can't help but bring him down a peg or two. It happened a few years back also. He was tag teaming me, but now his old partner in crime doesn't like him.
  20. Yeah, I got personal AFTER you got personal. I just do it more in-your-face than you do. You started the whole thing just because I said that smart teams are going to wait to sign Carr. But you don't remember that. How fuging convenient. It just goes to show that you're not "right," like my grandmother says. I will give @LinvilleGorgecredit. He was being a d*ck the other day, but he apologized for it. That was cool. You? You just amped it up.
  21. You started the bullshit with me, remember! You're not going to throw your little insult at me without getting it back.
  22. That's rich. You try and twist my words around---yeah lie---and got to nerve to say I'm personally attacking you after I call you on it.
