  1. True, but being in a union can make all the difference. Collective bargaining agreements go a long way towards legal protection for union members.
  2. Well isn't avoiding contact kind of the point? I don't understand your issue.
  3. Look at it kind of like "buy one, get one half off". The general rule is that half off is always applied to the cheaper of the two products. The lesser punishment will apply in this case because we had lesser standards. Hardy will probably get little to nothing.
  4. Ginn has been a ST ace for most of his career, and his average dropped considerably last season. He is a below average wide receiver, and always has been. I don't see it as any big loss, and I will be glad if we must raise our expectations, even if it's by default.
  5. Where there is smoke...the Cowboys are apparently loath to give Dez the contract that he wants---befitting of a receiver of his talent in this market---due to this situation, so it is very much newsworthy.
  6. Team chemistry is really important. We dumped 89, so I don't see us getting the lite version, and arguably a worse version when it comes to competing.
  7. IDK. Bryant reportedly made this statement purportedly in regards to what some believe is the vid: "I use to let people take advantage of my life now that I’m no longer allowing that to happen it seems to be a problem… I’m not ashamed of none of my past incidents because that’s what made me who I am today." http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/25/dez-bryant-ive-been-betrayed-video-tape//?adid=TMZ_Search_Results
  8. The fact that it hasn't come out yet probably means that it is patently false.
  9. Yeah, I read it as what we can do, not what we will do. Notwithstanding Cam and Kuechly's contracts, we still have to meet that 89 percent of the cap minimum to not be penalized, so we'll never see such a huge amount to spend.
  10. Well we can't even say that domestic violence would even be involved because the story is so weird, but just the fact that it involves the Cowboys will make it worth the read alone.
  11. OK some mysterious video---if it exists---is rumored to be out there about a situation involving Dez Bryant. This is the first I have heard of the rumor. http://seattle.suntimes.com/nfl/7/72/695824/dez-bryant-video-released It has apparently been on the radar of some within the media for quite a while according to Mike Florio, but he reiterated several times that he doesn't even know if the tape exists. He continued that even if it does, it is something that Bryant has done in his past, but it still may be affecting his contract negotiations with the Cowboys. Sounds fishy, but if something is actually there, we may find out as soon as today.
  12. There are exceptions to every rule.
  13. It's a wonder that we win anything at all with that rate of attrition. And people wanted to burn River at the stake.
  14. I would send you a pic, but that would be ghey and inappropriate. Suffice it to say that I am a black guy, and we all know that black guys have bigger feet than white guys.
  15. I didn't see the initial interview, but I did read this. After reading it, it just furthers my beliefs that there is absolutely no need to kick this man. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25079927/deangelo-williams-upset-with-panthers-no-one-came-to-moms-funeral
  16. It's not the length or girth, it's the strength.
  17. No. I have only ignored two people in all my years on the Huddle (Dexterity, and some guy who doesn't post much), and if I had to ignore a mod, then that person shouldn't be a mod. I know that CRA didn't care for Williams on a professional level, and I am not surprised Panthro feels the same, but I really don't remember them bashing Deangelo on a personal level (not saying that they didn't, but I didn't see it). Sure, it's one thing to say the guy got overpaid for warming the bench, and it's another thing to say that he is a social media oddity that grated on your nerves (which is a personal problem), but it's quite another to say that he is being petty and vindictive at a time when he is getting cut and still feeling some type of way about how J-Rich---in particular---handled his mother's passing.
  18. And yet everyone loved him as long as he was a central part of the offense. No one had a bad word to say about him on the Huddle.
  19. Like I intimated earlier, D-Will is going through some things---much more than many know or can appreciate if you view some of the responses in some of these threads. There is absolutely no need to get involved with kicking the man down for being human, even if you don't feel that he has handled the situation in the best way. Getting involved in such a petty dispute at a time like this is really not befitting of the Huddle, at least the place that would like to appear more enlightened when it comes Panthers football. If the Huddle is to be taken more seriously as quality destination for all things Panthers, and less like and amen choir of a narcissistic bunch of insensitive asses intent on masquerading as the sages of Panthers knowledge, then it will have to be moderated accordingly. Otherwise, the image of the Huddle will likely be as nothing more than any other football forum on the wonderful world of the Internet. The image of the Huddle is probably taking a bigger hit than Demgelo Williams'.
  20. Only on the Huddle where you attack an ex-player for being human. I am not saying that D-Will was totally right, but neither is anyone, including some within the Panther's FO What disturbs me the most about this whole situation is that there are many in the Huddle that take the first opportunity to jump on someone when they are down like a dog on last night's scraps. In my opinion, some of you need to check yourselves. The Huddle is good in a lot of ways, but having class is not one of them. I have seen the term "petty" slung around this thread in reference to Williams, but for me, this thread is the poster child for how petty some within the Huddle really are. To me it's not a good luck for a fan base that should pride itself on being the most knowledgeable and classiest in the league. At least that is what my vision for this place is, but I guess that's too much to ask.
  21. I get that you like Shaw Thompson, but there was something wong with his performance according to Bucky Brooks, his numbers were pedestrian and were not indicative of the explosiveness that some experts would like to have seen. This may affect his status as it may leave some questioning his upside.
