these decisions aren’t made in a vacuum, nobody ever goes into this process thinking something as bland and simple as “oh man we’ve got to get all new names because wow we’re all so mad.” these guys are evaluated as individuals and how their respective strengths can bind a new philosophical core, it will be extremely shocking if that new core is all in house. The GM being an in house name suggests the coach won’t be.

Think this probably rules out Evero, they definitely want some new blood.

I really don’t agree. If the climate were different then they absolutely could’ve used us to make a statement. We aren’t the cowboys or giants. They weren’t going to suspend him or force him to sell, no, which is exactly why draft picks were something that were on the table. If this happens again I doubt money is going to be all they come for.

People will gripe but if there were secondary effects it quite possibly would’ve been the loss of a draft pick. dude jeopardized the team.

Tag seems inevitable. He’s not earned a major contract this season. It isn’t all his fault but this is a results business, and the numbers would suggest less than he’s worth. you obviously can’t give him what he originally wanted, you can’t just continue to let talented players walk either i guess it’s good news. I figured earlier in the season that tagging him may get ugly. Now I’m guessing he’d probably rather bet on himself for a season. He could still get a major pay day in free agency but probably not max value.
