  1. also who even is the original tweeter, does he have a track record or is this just Juan stuff
  2. That doesn’t really mean anything though. To expand on it, not only did they take three straight, they took a first round WR in four out of five years. if they had passed on the talent in 2007 because of what they did from 2003-2005, it would’ve been a colossal mistake. millen’s mistake was drafting bad players. If the talent is at a premium position-then take that. it should also be pointed out that today’s nfl mandates three, if not four, quality wideouts whereas in the early two thousands you were just fine with two
  3. You run zone because you can’t challenge WRs in space. Developing a guy to learn when to squat or stop is a normal part of the growing process. Guys who can challenge man and separate deep are going to get drafted high or paid exuberant money. It’s a skill set you have to have on your roster. additionally, this data isn’t new-we’ve seen it before, so I don’t need to read it. It’s an isolated component of his profile whole profile, one that is about to get him drafted high.
  4. I did my personal mock this morning and ended up going this route with Sadiq and Thienaman still on the board. Now it feels wrong.
  5. I buy the thieneman thing because right now there’s nobody but Nick Scott at that position, but honestly, we’re in peak smoke season and he doesn’t really fit with our formula of drafting expensive high value positions early.
  6. we could honestly probably get Detroit to give us a pick swap for next to nothing just so they could stick it to Minnesota.
  7. Same. Moved so well. But his combine weight was probably water weight and I imagine he shrunk back down substantially afterward. edit: he was like the ultimate litmus test of where you were at as a draft nerd. If you weren’t dazzled by his movement skills then you clearly had not built up a big enough point of reference to know how impressive it was and must be new. however, any more experience as a draftnik and you surely knew right away why he was so nimble: he had no butt.
  8. I asked AI to forego reading mock drafts and analyze other available data to make a sophisticated projection of who the Panthers will take at 19. after making a comprehensive and rather intelligent overview of Dan Morgan’s tendencies, Dave Canales’ scheme fit, and overall roster needs-it finally spit out a name after much calculation. with the 19th overall pick in the NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select: Princely Umanmielen, DE, Carolina Panthers after being told that there was an small issue with this possibility, it updated and spit out a secondary name: Domani Jackson, CB, Alabama once again I pointed out this is unlikely, and explained why, so it ran the data again and came up with: Benjamin Morrison, Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally, I gave it permission to incorporate mock drafts into it’s formula and it told me Kenyon Sadiq because those mock drafts said so. It did say to keep an eye on Jermod McCoy though because of the team’s emphasis on positional value early. You can see the emphasis on CB for this reason.
  9. Right but when that position is the talent rich position group available for you to draft, it escalates in priority. maybe they ultimately love Peter Woods or something but the thought process behind another WR is logical and a good move.
  10. The WR debate is pretty similar to the WR debate from last offseason, and it paid off not resting on our laurels. i think Jalen Coker is much better (prior to catching the ball anyways, he can be dumb with the ball in his hands) than the Solid Number 3 a lot of media types have labeled him as. but all it’s going to take is Concepcion housing one 1 time to see what the room has been missing if “good enough” seems good enough to you, then remember that the Rams have Nacua and Adams and were still trying to trade for AJ Brown. You build your team to win your division first and the conference after that.
  11. I mean they are meeting with guys at his position group. It would be highly unlikely that they are not considering the top ranked player at his position. He was reportedly a joy to talk to interviews. i think I’m leaning towards him not being who they pick, but they are absolutely considering him.
  12. Teams value size more than fans do. I loved Jake Fisher coming out. Had such great feet, elite kick step, great counter pickup. Went in the 2nd and was being tried at TE a few seasons later. i still think Lomu goes first though.
  13. I think the rams mainly just wanna try and show everyone how smart they are by not “doing it the old way.” there's nothing particularly remarkable about their drafting and yet we’re forced to endure the We Do Things A Bit Differently Around Here schlock from their minions in the media
  14. thanks for letting us know hear that everyone? Shut it down, turns out our discussion doesn’t mean everything
  15. I mean there are other guys who are technically regarded as better but yeah, I get the appeal. josh Norris pointed out he’s two inches taller and 15 lbs heavier than Jaylen waddle was coming out. He plays inside out, gives us juice, but is still different enough of a profile that Legette and Horn don’t become obsolete. I think he’s a good option. Better than a safety or a guard or whatever especially.
  16. Josh Norris pointed out he’s two inches taller and 15 lbs heavier than Jaylen waddle was
  17. You don’t really draw offenses up like this anymore, at least not if you’re good. you want guys who can play inside out or anywhere in the field to mix things up. Concepcion doesn’t have the ideal frame to play outside, but he’s not small either and it looks like he charted really well on what are considered more perimeter routes last season.
  18. Well it’s not me you need to convince, you need to convince 32 nfl teams to not regard him or his demonstrated tape as being explosive
  19. WRs maybe. The issue is his skillset is a highly coveted attribute that teams chase hard. Look at what Wandale Robinson just got in free agency. you can find a smaller guy later in the draft, sure. But finding a great one who is twitched up and explosive and ready to make plays? Those guys go extremely early.
  20. Concepcion doesn’t necessarily end the Legette experiment which I think is part of the appeal. two different types of players, Concepcion being a highly coveted skillset that is extremely difficult to find.
  21. Nike doesn’t do that anymore, now they just give you a plain colored shirt
  22. we have a pretty league average set of skill players. Using 19 to try and create a true strength out of a neutral at a premium position isn’t a bad idea.
  23. I can’t believe we’re still doing the corporate mandated minimalist thing despite everyone hating it
  24. it’s crazy because whenever he’s talking about other teams he’s a really good guy but it is an annual tradition that whenever he talks about the Panthers his brain just comes undone and oozes out of his ears
